Discrete circuitry and unrivaled character
Unlike most mixers, Union Audio designed their Orbit.6 with a discrete circuit rather than the most common integrated circuit (IC). Each component of the circuit is individually chosen and connected rather than etched to a singular piece of silicon, as would be the case with an IC. Using a discrete signal path enhances listening with an unrivaled musicality, endowing Union Audio’s engineers a unique capacity to hand select parts for each Orbit.6 unit. This ensures each mixer is tailored to the nuances of its components, optimizing performance and playback through detailed precision and craftsmanship.
Forged with finesse
The features across the Orbit.6’s anodized, glass-bead blasted aluminum front panel and robust interfacing have been ergonomically optimized for complete sonic control. Each channel’s rotary fader was crafted with Union Audio’s custom-built damping system, balancing weight and precision for uninterrupted, detailed mixing and level adjustments. This same finesse abounds throughout the Orbit.6’s highpass filter, Trim, and Auxiliary knobs, as well as the Master output’s 3-band EQ and Isolator controls. Subtle lighting illuminates the base of each channel’s primary rotary knobs, coupled with the per-channel 10-LED VU display, Cue light, and Master left- and right-channel’s custom VU meters.
Versatile I/O and maximum performance prowess
Each of the rotary mixer’s six channels includes line-level stereo RCA input pairs. Meanwhile, channels five and six are given a secondary line-level pair, and channels one through four feature RIAA stereo pairs. Inputs can be manually selected for each channel. At the same time, Trim and Auxiliary Send levels can be toggled between pre- and post-fader configurations, granting DJs and audiophiles unparalleled potential for interoperative use with external gear or effects. A rear-mounted, 3-pin XLR microphone input can be activated for use with channel six, with dedicated Trim and 2-band EQ controls for seamless use within your set. Both Master and Booth stereo outputs utilize 3-pin XLR connectors, complemented by an RCA stereo output for recording. Moreover, every channel features a designated Channel Direct output, with Master Insert, Aux Return, and Aux Out nearby, all of which utilize 1/4-inch TRS stereo pairs, ensuring comprehensive control over your sound.
