Extreme Tone Meets Advanced Playability

If you've been searching for a dual-humbucker shred machine that plays right, sounds great, and doesn't break the bank, the Schecter Omen Extreme-6 checks all the right boxes. Its thin "C" maple neck with flat-radius rosewood fingerboard and 24 extra-jumbo frets lay the foundation for everything from fast runs to finger-tapping exploits. Its joined by a stunning quilt maple-topped mahogany body with a deep gloss finish and multi-ply crème binding, giving this axe tons of presence under stage lights. Sonically, the Omen Extreme-6's capable Diamond Plus humbuckers with push-pull coil splits provide you with six pickup sounds for claiming your space in a mix. On the hardware side, you get a tuning-stable string-through body with Tune-o-matic bridge and black chrome Schecter tuners to help you look and sound your best in any performance setting. If you're looking for a springboard into technical and aggressive styles of playing, Sweetwater guitar players recommend the Omen Extreme-6 for beginners and intermediate players alike.

Maple-topped mahogany body

A tried-and-true body pairing of figured maple on rich mahogany gives the Schecter Omen Extreme-6 its premium visuals and tonal core. Plus, with its crème multi-ply binding that extends from the body all the way up the neck into the headstock, this is a guitar with a look that's unmatched by its peers.

Shred-supporting neck, frets, and fingerboard

Neck feel is where the rubber meets the road for many guitarists. We're pleased to report that the Schecter Omen Extreme-6 is spec'd to support technical styles of playing. From heel to headstock, its thin "C" maple neck profile feels right in the hand. And whether you're sweep picking or alternate picking those arpeggios, its 14-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard and 24 extra-jumbo frets go a long way in preventing buzzes, fret outs, and hand cramps.

Coil-splittable Diamond Plus pickups

From brutalizing crunch to crystalline cleans, the Omen Extreme-6 has you covered. Its Diamond Plus humbucking pickups have tone and flexibility to go with the distance with you, stage to studio. Coil splitting is activated by a simple push-pull mechanism on the tone pot. Together with its 3-way selector, the Omen Extreme-6 offers a total of six distinct pickup combinations for interacting with your music — from fusion to blues, and from rock to metal.

Black chrome hardware

The Omen Extreme-6 comes blacked out head-to-toe in luxurious black chrome hardware for added player appeal. Looking for a guitar that makes a statement? You'll want to check out the Schecter Omen Extreme-6.

Great Quality Instrument

This guitar came packaged extremely well from Sweetwater. The pictures hardly do the finish justice. The frets are not sharp or pokey at all, which was a concern for me ordering this guitar since I was not able to pick it up and try it in a store. The neck isn't thick and has a very slim profile to it, as expected with this type of guitar. The tuners seem like good quality and are easy to turn, but they do not seem 'cheap.' I'm thinking about upgrading to locking tuners as they make changing strings easier. The volume knobs are satisfying to use and the pickup selector switch has a good click to it. Keep in mind this guitar features a push/pull pot that is used as a coil-sit feature to give the humbuckers a single coil feel. This guitar plays extremely well and I'm surprised there are not many video reviews on YouTube or posted on Sweetwater. Overall, a very impressive instrument for the price and a great experience from Sweetwater.

My go-to guitar!

Sounds great, plays effortlessly. Specs are very good for the price point. Bought one a few years ago and it's been my favorite of my collection ever since. It's very much geared towards metal/rock, but honestly just about anything sounds good on this.
Rated 4.5/5

Very good quality construction for the price

I'm most impressed with the fretwork and quality construction relative to some other bigger brands selling for double the price, one of which I also owned when I bought this but have since gotten rid of. Also, a beautiful quilt maple top. Guitars from bigger brands with a quilt maple top again seem to go for double the price. I like the versatility of the pickups from heavy chug to chime in the split coil positions. They could perhaps be a bit more clear and might be worth upgrading at some point, but very enjoyable. Tuners are another spot that might be worth an upgrade but they're not problematic. The neck is definitely one for faster playing and has a satin-ish finish. I really like it as a complement to my strat and semi-hollow. I've had the guitar for about 5 weeks and have played it almost daily.
