Reliable, Roadworthy MIDI Footswitch Controller
Like its Oakboard series siblings, the Oaktone Oakboard Floor Vista provides powerful, pliable MIDI-controlling capabilities, with this iteration taking the form of a tour-grade footswitch controller. Its lightweight yet ultra-durable design utilizes a die-cast aluminum-alloy housing that packs its 4-switch versatility into a portability-minded powerhouse that can be effortlessly integrated into nearly any setup and just as easily stored in hardshell cases and backpacks. The Oakboard Floor Vista has four high-endurance footswitches that are encircled in vivid, color-coded LEDs and a high-contrast OLED display, collectively eliminating any need for color-coded or glow tape and freeing you from the performance-inhibiting demands of having to manage, place, and check your computer — even in the darkest recesses of the venue. The class-compliant USB-C connectivity aids in cable management and facilitates its comprehensive MIDI support that Sweetwater’s live-show experts are pleased to report masterfully integrates with virtually any class-compliant device or DAW (digital audio workstation) but thrives in ecosystems driven by Ableton Live. In fact, the included Oaktone Taz Lite software is designed exclusively for use in Ableton Live, but the Oakboard Floor Vista seamlessly integrates with any ecosystem that supports MIDI-controller mapping.
Note: The included Taz Lite software requires Ableton Live Suite, Max for Live (included in Ableton Live Suite), and the macOS operating system. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer with any questions or concerns regarding compatibility.
Oaktone Taz Lite software
While the interoperative integration of the Oakboard Floor Vista is nearly limitless, Oaktone’s commitment to craftsmanship, consistency, and reliability led the company to the logical conclusion of developing its own software to use with the Oakboard Floor Vista. Enter, Taz — the cue-launching plug-in that’s built for Ableton Live. Oaktone includes a copy of Taz Lite with every Oakboard device, arming you with a slew of cueing, transport-management, looping, auto-scroll, and further capabilities that supercharge your Ableton-driven arrangement. In fact, you can even use Taz Lite with macOS’s text-to-speech architecture, allowing you to discreetly communicate specific information to onstage performers via their in-ear monitors.
