Its six backlit switches are crafted from smooth, enduring silicone, built with a satisfying tactility that Sweetwater’s live-show engineers positively agree leaves no room to second-guess your cue-launching and MIDI-mapped capabilities. Moreover, the Japanese-manufactured switches double down on peace of mind by pre-programming the controller with a 100-millisecond debounce rate, safeguarding you from any double-firing mishaps. Where Oaktone distinguishes the Oakboard Slide Duo from its series siblings, however, is through its dual-output architecture, offering two MIDI-capable USB-C ports (each with top-mounted LEDs to indicate connectivity and status) and a pair of Bourns linear-slide potentiometers. The additional dimensions of MIDI-controllable interfacing are perfect for gradual, continual, and morphing functions across lights, pyrotechnics, and anything else you could map from your DAW (digital audio workstation). With the inclusion of Oaktone’s Taz Lite software, your Ableton-fueled rig is ready to roll right out of the box!

Enter, Taz — the cue-launching plug-in that’s built for Ableton Live. Oaktone includes a copy of Taz Lite with every Oakboard Slide Duo, arming you with a slew of cueing, transport-management, looping, auto-scroll, and further capabilities that supercharge your Ableton-driven arrangement. In fact, you can even use Taz Lite with macOS’s text-to-speech architecture, allowing you to discreetly communicate specific information to onstage performers via their in-ear monitors.
