Although, with the truss rod screw at the base of the neck makes it more work to adjust.
I'm curious to find out the reason to have the screw at the base rather than by the nut.
I suppose it's the most physically strong position, at the base. So the adjustment, when rarely needed, is a bit more work.

Nice neck , after I leveled the Frets. Some very high and buzzing. Took some work, now it's nearly perfect..not what I would expect from fender but it's ok now… I returned the first one as it was unusable, but sweetwater sent me another no questions asked. Sweetwater rocks..just saying..
