This Pedal Does All the Choruses

If you dig chorus, the Jackson Audio New Wave puts decades’ worth of lush chorus, vibrato, and rotary effects right at your feet. Powered by analog bucket brigade circuitry, this stereo guitar pedal delivers seven classic effects, including ’70s mono chorus, ’80s stereo stompbox and rack-style chorus with pitch shifting, classic vibrato and rotary speakers, and beyond. Moreover, since the New Wave boasts digital control, you get authentic BBD-style sounds with digital precision and programmable presets. This stompbox includes a wide range of top-panel controls, enabling you to dial in super-subtle textures, seasick modulation, and everything in between. The New Wave is chock-full of top-shelf features, including a Mix knob, tap tempo, MIDI control, an expression pedal input, and true-bypass switching. The New Wave is a does-it-all modulation pedal that’s a must-have for all chorus aficionados.

Note: the Jackson Audio New Wave requires an 18V DC power supply. For more information, call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer.

Modulation’s greatest hits in a single stompbox

The New Wave includes seven presets tailored for a full range of classic chorus, vibrato, and rotary sounds:

  • 70: Classic chorus using clock and LFO settings measured from the original CE-style mono chorus.
  • 80: Stereo chorus based on an ’80s-era CE-style pedal.
  • RCK: ’80s-style chorus with pitch shifting to deliver the definitive classic rack tone.
  • VIB: Classic vibrato effect with complete control.
  • ROT: Employs pitch and amplitude modulation for authentic rotary speaker cabinet effects.
  • HRM: Harmonic mode that modulates each channel in a mathematical relationship for mind-bending chorus sounds.
  • UC: User-configurable mode that gives you complete control over all parameters.

A flood of top-shelf features

At Sweetwater, we’re blown away by how many features Jackson Audio packed into the New Wave’s compact housing. Depth, Speed, and Tone knobs give you plenty of tone-shaping power. The Phase/Ratio knob changes the phase alignment of the pedal’s two stereo channels or, depending on the preset mode selected, changes the multiplier of the right channel. The Delay knob adjusts the center frequency of the BBD chips, allowing for loose or tight chorus tones. Five digitally controlled LFO waveshapes are available. You also get tap tempo, a programmable slow and fast setting for use with an expression pedal or the pedal’s Ramp feature, and an ’80s-inspired latch mode for momentary activation of the effect. Full MIDI control, and expression pedal input, and true-bypass switching round out the Jackson Audio New Wave’s robust feature set.

Jackson Audio New Wave Stereo Analog Chorus/Vibrato Pedal Features:

  • Delivers BBD-based stereo analog chorus, vibrato, and rotary effects
  • Digital control provides authentic BBD-style sounds but with digital precision and programmable presets
  • 7 presets unleash decades of classic modulation effects
  • 5 digitally controlled LFO waveshapes are available
  • Top-panel controls dial in super-subtle textures, seasick modulation, and everything in between
  • Mix knob blends your dry and effected signals

Great

Really good pedal too many option easy to dial 80's vives color and design totally satisfied with this purchase, it's 18v but you can notice the difference on the sound than a 9v chorus, due the voltage gets a little bit hot nothing to worry but it happened. Thanks to Aaron tremain always so helpful and kind always a pleasure doing business with him.

This thing is inasne!

The new wave forms are super usefull. Love that I can save speed and depth to each mode. I know you can save more than that but that's all i'm concerned about. Best feature for sure is the phase ratio knob, serious stereo spread and killer to have on the rotary mode. I'm using a voltage doubler cable in two 9v spots cause my cheapo power supply doesn't have an 18v spot.
Music background: Cover bands mostly

Great pedal but very picky about its power supply!

One of the most versatile Chorus pedals out there. Jackson Audio did a software update to solve the issue with the power supply (pedal has a usb port inside for updates. ) which helped alleviate some of the issues it had related to power supply. I highly recommend this pedal and now it comes with a power supply from factory.

Power it correctly and it RULES

Best Chorus pedal on the market hand down! It is inspiring and beautiful. Make it very hard to ever turn it off.

Inspiration machine!

This is hands down my favorite chorus pedal. You need to use 18v and have a power supply that will offer at least 500mA. Very useful as a studio tool for just about any chorus sound you will need and it also offers a great interface and presets for live use! AMAZING!
