Brute-force Synthesis Is Back

The original MiniBrute earned its acclaim with its massive sound and hands-on playability — and there's even more to love in the Arturia MiniBrute 2 semi-modular analog synthesizer. Most notable is its 48-point CV patchbay — you don't need to patch a thing to generate a huge range of sounds with MiniBrute 2, but you'll have endless creative possibilities when you do. Also impressive is its KeyStep-style sequencer, perfect for on-the-fly improvisation. Factor in sync compatibility with DrumBrute and other modules and the Arturia MiniBrute 2 is a great fit for practically any modern music production workflow.

Ample sound design potential and hands-on control

With two Brute oscillators and the popular Steiner-Parker filter, the MiniBrute 2 synthesizer builds on everything synthesists loved about the original. Even without using the patchbay you'll be able to create deep basses, intense leads, evocative drones and pads, and much more. And with its effortless integration with Eurorack, the MiniBrute 2 becomes a sound design powerhouse.

Designed for RackBrute

With 48 CV patch points, the MiniBrute 2 is the perfect complement for a Eurorack modular synth rig. And the perfect way to join those two worlds is with Arturia's RackBrute Eurorack case. MiniBrute 2 and RackBrute join together and offer different positioning options, putting your Eurorack modules right where you need them.

Connectivity for all

One thing we especially like about the MiniBrute 2 here at Sweetwater is its ability to integrate with other music gear in so many ways. The impressive 48 CV patch points for use with modular synthesizers are just the start. Traditional 5-pin MIDI is present too, as well as USB for MIDI to and from your computer. You'll be able to sync to your DrumBrute, Akai MPC Live, or Korg Volca modules. And the external audio input allows you to process sounds through the MiniBrute 2's powerful sound-shaping facilities.

Reviews

My First Analog Synth! Love it!
Well, gotta say, this is my first foray into synth hardware and I'm highly impressed at the versatility of this monster. I've created a couple 808 packs so far, but I did accidentally make an accordion sound the other night, too bad I didn't record it. Lol, but this synth is going to help me be inspired to finally create music regularly again! My next foray is into fully modular Eurorack synths

Getting your ears wet.
I had my doubts at first about how this might compare to the M**g semi-modulars. The oscillators on the Mini2 sound very thick and are coaxed into some pretty nasty or creamy overtones by the FM+ and "brute" knobs. Very well thought out layout here especially when integrated into the Rackbrute system.
What really made me want to leave this as a 5 star review was the fact that the 131 page manual is the best tool for any beginner into semi-modular. The instructional guide in its step by step format makes it simple and fun to get up and running. If you have ever had reservations about modular, this synth should change your mind.
Music background: semi-pro artist and engineer
A beginner at synths, great so far
This is actually my second synth, the first being the Korg Volca keys which is a mini synth, makes fully analog sounds, but limited since it is a mini synth. So I expanded my synth journey as a piano and guitar player into the Minibrute 2. A beginner can learn the basics of this synth from the Arturia tutorials on YouTube or by the intro to the instructions. To me this synth sounds great. I prefer to connect my Minibrute 2 to a reverb pedal and then I connect it to a powered speaker that has a mixer. To me this fully analog monophonic 25 key synth had a great price point, feels very solid, strongly built, one of the things that I looked for in a synth around this price point is tuning stability which the Minibrute 2 has been stable. I am a beginner, maybe there are better sounding synths at higher price points, and I will say that there is a lot to be learned especially with the patch bay and there are more advanced features in the 150 page plus manual which explains everything about the Minibrute 2. I just really like this synth a lot!
Music background: Guitar, piano, singing, songwriting
Perfect
Gives more than I thought.
Arturia minibrute 2
This instrument is good for someone who is interested in pure sound design. It is musical, obviously, however for someone who is more interested in producing musical tones quickly, I think I would go with another synth. Additionally, I am having a very hard time attempting to figure out the modulation ports and the connectivity in generating new sounds. I have had this instrument for better than a years and unfortunately I hardly use it. Sad because I paid good money for it. Should have done better research.
