Shoot from Any Angle with the Micro Studio's Pocket-sized 4K!
When limited space puts the squeeze on large cameras, the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 by Blackmagic Design is your one-stop solution! Despite its compact footprint, the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 manages to pack studio-grade 4K capture and professional I/O (SDI, HDMI, and USB). While the camera is optimized for live production use, this G2 model can also record Blackmagic RAW files to an external USB disk. The Micro Studio lets you enhance images in real time, even during live productions, with built-in color correction technology lifted from DaVinci Resolve. You can also correct color remotely by connecting compatible switchers. Made from lightweight, rugged magnesium alloy, you can mount the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 up high, down low, on tripods, or even toss it into your mobile kit without adding bulk. Customizing your camera is easy too, as you'll find ample modular compatibility with accessories, lenses, and control devices. There’s an MFT lens mount in the box, and ambitious cinematographers can even utilize broadcast-grade lenses with the Micro Studio camera by purchasing aftermarket adapters. Film-grade 4K with live color correction
The second-generation Micro Studio camera takes all of the original’s functionality and takes it to another level! Noteworthy upgrades include 12G-SDI support, recording in Blackmagic RAW (requires an external USB disk), and expanded 4K and HDMI resolutions. The Micro Studio’s 4K cinematic sensor boasts 4096 x 2160 pixels and supports frame rates from 23.98 fps up to 60 fps, so it’s well suited for Ultra-HD work (and standard HD if needed). What’s more, the Micro Studio integrates DaVinci Resolve’s world-class color correction technology. Meanwhile, 13 stops of dynamic range deliver darker blacks and brighter whites that set you up for stunning color correction with minimal effort. This truly must-have tech brings a cinema-grade sheen to any live production!
A secondary high-base ISO of 3200 fuels rich low-light performance with colorful depth.
Robust networked control
The Micro Studio Camera connects to practically any video equipment that you might use with a larger camera. External hard drives and accessories can connect via USB-C, while HDMI and dual 12G-SDI connectors offer multiple ways to route signal or connect switching devices! Sweetwater videographers love using Blackmagic’s ATEM switchers for remote control over things like tally, talkback, and even color correction. This option is especially handy when placing the Micro Studio camera in places that are difficult to reach during an active shoot.
Modular lens mounts and redundant power
You can customize and power the Micro Studio Camera in multiple ways, freeing you to capture stunning 4K footage anywhere. The Micro Studio camera supports photographic and broadcast lenses. The included MFT lens adapter works with common photographic lenses from manufacturers such as Olympus, Panasonic, and Sigma, and this flexibility makes the Micro Studio a value-packed option for content creators who already own DSLR or mirrorless camera equipment. Aftermarket adapters can be purchased separately should you desire to use broadcast lenses. Plus, with the Micro Studio’s redundant mix-and-match power supply options, your productions never have to suffer from a power outage or cable failure. The included 12V standard power supply attaches to the Micro Studio’s locking connector, whereas affordable LP-E6-style batteries can be used for primary power or as a redundant source. Lastly, the Micro Studio works with V-lock batteries (sold separately), which supply all-day power that’s perfect for remote shoots.
