Experience The Warmth Of Analog Delay, Chorus and Vibrato

Nothing can compare to the organic sound of analog delay, and no one does analog like the electro-harmonix Memory Man! The Electro-Harmonix Deluxe memory Man provides up to 550ms of vibrant echo that rivals tape delay. Lush, spatial chorus and haunting vibrato are just a few of the treats in the Memory Man's sonic schmorgasbord! Analog warmth that renders digital delay obsolete - the Deluxe Memory Man echo with chorus/vibrato!

Electro-Harmonix XO Series Deluxe Memory Man at a Glance:
  • Easy operation and direct out jack
  • Vary the signal mix with Blend control
  • Create pitch-shift effects by changing delay rate
  • Chorus/vibrato control

Easy operation and direct out jack
The bypass footswitch on top of the Deluxe Memory Man allows you to switch the effect in and out. Unmodified signal is always available at the direct out jack. The Deluxe memory Man features a level control with an overload led that blinks on with the loudest notes you play in order to prevent overdriving the Deluxe Memory Man. Overdriving the Memory Man will cause distortion.

Vary the signal mix with Blend control
The Memory Man's blend control allows you to vary the mix of direct and delayed signals. The center position provides equal levels of both. Feedback provides delay repeats, or multiple echoes. Fairly high feedback with short delay settings produces a reverb effect.

Create pitch-shift effects by changing delay rate
The Memory Man's delay control determines the time between direct and delayed signals, and between the repeats when feedback is used. Strange, eerie and unusual pitch-shift effects can be produced by changing the delay while playing, especially while using feedback.

Chorus/vibrato control
The chorus/vibrato control of the Deluxe Memory Man introduces a modulation in the delay time: slow for chorus, faster for vibrato. This produces a "doppler" pitch shifting in the delayed signal. A rich, vibrant chorus effect is produced with the switch set to chorus, delay fairly short, blend at the center, chorus set high, and feedback fairly high.

Electro-Harmonix XO Series Deluxe Memory Man Features:
  • Die-case XO Series Chassis
  • 550ms of echo, chorus, and vibrato
  • Overload LED
  • Level control and Overload LED
  • Blend, delay, and Chorus/Vibrato controls
  • True bypass operation
  • Bypass footswitch

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Reviews

Memory Man Deluxe
Loving this pedal and exploring all its features. Really inspires my playing experience. Thanks Sweetwater!!
Detailed Review of my personal preference
I two main Delay Pedals are this Deluxe Memory Man and a Boss DD-7. I use these two pedals primarily with a Fender Deluxe Reverb and a Fender Stratocaster. The Memory Man is a great sounding Delay Pedal. It has a warm, moderately deep sound with strong delays. It's a great pedal to use for an entire song or piece of music. This is due to its strong "character" and once its turned off, your "vibe" gets turned off as well. So the best way to use this pedal is to have it always on for an entire song or turn it on for an ending to your musical piece. It does have some unique character as it warms up or when it's constantly on; this is actually kinda nice as it adds color to your playing. I like using the VIBRATO setting with the Depth turned slightly below noon or above noon. I never use the Chorus option, not that its a bad sounding option to have but I just really like the Vibrato effect. The reason for the Boss DD-7 is to have a delay for the "Background" that does not over color my tone and using the Boss DD-7 allows me to have other pedals on. The Memory Man in my opinion isn't meant to be combined with other pedals, but is more a stand alone pedal due to its heavier tone coloring. I hope this was helpful. If you're considering other Analog Delays or Digital Delays, have fun doing so! It's all preference and comes down to what amps and guitar you're using that really determines your final choice.
Awesome!!
Makes everything sound great!!!

Great Pedal
Great sounding delays. I prefer the vibrato vs chorus delay settings but truthfully both are great. Sounds awesome with the right amount of overdrive when you want your solos to stand out. Would not hesitate to recommend. Try it!
Fantastic
I wanted the Edge's U2 sound - this is it. Ended up finding many other tones I enjoy, especially with the chorus. Excellent for country/slapback.

Only negative is the power supply is 24v - pulls a few more gates (recommend having Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus, as they make a power adapter for it that uses two gates out of their eight).

Positively - the pedal is smaller than I thought it would be.
