Reviews

Good old Martin
I purchased the MA540 from SweetWater and I have been playing for 65 years and these are the best strings I have used. Am I the best guitarist, hardly, but I really do like these strings. I used to own a Martin D18 guitar I wish I still had for these strings. I gave these 5 stars they deserve 3 times more.

Good quality product, fast shipping, thank you
Martin SP Authentic PB lights
Really like the feel of these strings. Stiffer and a tad stronger than D'Addario EJ16s. Bolder than John Pearce Pb lights. I think the .54 E string and the .25 G really make a volume and projection difference for the better vs traditional light gauge strings. I just cannot hang with true medium gauge for long, but lights are too light. So the Martin light gauge fits it nicely, if you are in that same camp. These work great on my Guild D35, which is basically a D-18. Not sure how they sound on rosewood back/sides dreads. I bet these would give maple sone much needed warmth.

But for my basic spruce top, hog b/a dread, these Martin authentic pbs are it.

Strings for acoustic guitars have come along way in the last 30 years or more.i was an elixir ,d addario, user for ever.
Then i tried a set of martins on a cheap 6 string.
ive replaced the strings on ALL MY GUITARS 12 strings included. im sure string preference ,is as diverse as there are guitarists. What appeals to your ear ??
These martins ( everyone ive tried)have improved the sounds im looking for out of each of my guitars. The string sets for 12 string guitars ,are a particularly ,nice improvement to my 12 string guitars, regardless of the manufacture.I recently acquired a D angelico, premier fulton ,not too expensive ,and not a cheappy 12 string. It sounded good ,i didnt expect a5000.00 $ sound out of it.
But when i installed a set of martin silk/ steel, lights ,omg big ,big difference.

Great!
Put a set on last night played 2 hours of rehearsals and two services this morning. I really like these strings. Very bright and easy to play.
