Martin Re-invents the Acoustic Guitar String

Utilizing a round titanium core, and nickel wrap wire applied with Martin's proprietary winding technique, Martin Titanium Core acoustic guitar strings promise a new level of playing comfort, response, and corrosion resistance. The special winding process maximizes coupling between the wrap wire and the round titanium core, while also preventing stress on the core wire at the ball-end. And the plain stainless steel strings have been cryogenically-treated for longer string life and reduced finger drag. Guitarists at Sweetwater agree, Martin Titanium Core strings are a fresh take on acoustic guitar strings.

Light Tension for a relaxed feel

You may have noticed that Martin Titanium Core strings don't specify the included string gauges. That's because these strings sets are designed with a focus on the overall set tension, and some individual string gauges deviate somewhat from what you'd normally expect to see in a given set. This is a Light Tension set — if you're used to playing "Light Gauge" phosphor bronze strings, this is the set for you.

Martin Titanium Core Acoustic Guitar Strings Features:

  • Acoustic guitar strings with round titanium core and nickel wrap wire
  • Light Tension set — comparable to most Light Gauge phosphor bronze string sets
  • Plain stainless steel strings are cryogenically-treated for longer life and smoother feel
  • Round core and proprietary winding process maximize coupling between core and wrap wire
  • Comfortable playability with less finger fatigue and longer lifespan

Reviews

Excellent Quality, Sound, and Longevity
These are quite possibly the best acoustic guitar strings out there. My Martin D-45 rings beautifully. The more I play the better they seem to sound. Highly recommend.

Fantastic fingerstyle strings!
In my 40+ years of playing, I've tried almost every type/brand of strings out there. When playing my Martin, I'm almost always finger picking, and when it comes to that, these are just incredible. The clarity, projection, and punch are the best I've ever heard, and by a wide margin. As expensive as they are, I don't imagine I'll be going back to phosphor/bronze strings ever again. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Great strings
I would recommend everyone to try these strings at least once, simply because they have such a solid midtone. Insane sustain because of the density of the strings. Even with a light gauge these strings feel very dense. It had a punchy attack but can still play soft music. They are definitely different.

If I had to say, they are the best strings I've ever played for acoustic steel string guitar.

But it's hard to even compare. Comparing them to other strings feels like comparing apples and oranges because they strings feel & sound so different than anything else.

Most people won't like these. It sounds weird, honestly.
Not what I'm used to.
Out of the pack they're not very slick, as compared to nanoweb elixirs, which many pro's use, Eddie van der meer for example. But these titanium strings quickly becomes nicely playable when it absorbs enough natural oils from your hands.

The elixir strings are totally nice. Always been my go to.
And many top musicians use them.

But in my opinion, in terms of quality, even though they have a weird sound, the Martin titanium strings are a league above elixir. These martins feel like true professional quality strings. The elixir sounds cheap by comparison.

Just my 3 cents.

Try them out.
I was skeptical about trying these and mostly due to the price but I figured what the hell. To my surprise I do like them, they do not feel more 'slinky' though or at least not to me although I'd like that if they did. They do sound a little more 'bassy' to my ear though so if you're looking for a very bright tone I probably wouldn't recommend these…
I really liked the fact that these strings should last an extremely long time though without going dead, I don't have these long enough to testify to that though, so time will tell. Perhaps the biggest reason why I went for these though is my Martin 000-15SM has a slotted headstock and I really don't enjoy changing strings on that guitar lol, You really need to be mindful of which way your wind them and bring the string around on your initial wind or you'll wind up rubbing two strings together in the headstock area.
Lastly, I liked them to the point where I wound up stringing my other Martin up with the very same strings even without the slotted headstock. Give them a try if you're on the fence, they might surprise you.
The Absolute Best Strings For Your D-28
The sound, the feel, the look, the lifespan. It's all here. They're pricey but worth it.
