Laney amps: stunning since ’67

Reviews

This Laney has the Heart of a Lion!
I was searching for an amplifier with great clean tones, but also the option to push the tubes now and then. The Laney Lionheart L5 Head is a game changer! It can be dialed in from clean to mean and all points between. The 0.5w setting allows me to crank the clean channel up to 8 while in my living room and it produces the creamiest break up imaginable! Tones that are so beautiful! The DI interface and
tech take this amp to another level. Old school tone with modern amenities. This is a great amplifier!
Amazing Amp, perfect for home use.
I looked at these amps a while back, but decided to go with a different amp. That amp did not work out, so I sold and and started shopping again. It was recommended to me by the folks here at Sweetwater, so I decided to give it a try. What a wonder decision that was. This is the best home amp. Great cleans, good crunch. Great for classic rock / blues and beyond. The .5 watt output helps keep the volume down while still sounding great.

The I/O options on this thing are endless My only complaint, and it is not a big deal, but if I had to complain it would be that it only offers cab sim, not IR's and only 1 single cab sim. Works well enough, but again that is the only thing I can think of to complain about.
The Thrill is Back!
After 7 decades of play through several of the most popular tube amps, I stopped gigging live and focus on studio recording, using a solid state amp with a combination of built-in FX and VSTs to recreate tube sag and bloom. But by adding the Laney 5L Studio tube amp to the signal chain the sound of a true tube amp is easy to dial in.
A fantastic and well-built amp
I've liked Laney amps since I played one in the UK in the 90s. I also own an LA30BL, which is great, but is a) non-master-volume, and b) giant sounding. I got the L5 for quieter gigging and a more controllable sound (instead of just big or bigger). The L5 sounds amazing and is extremely well built. The 0.5 W mode is great for practicing with my piano player and 5W is good for small venue live gigging. I'm very satisfied with this little lion.
Music background: Guitarist for 30 years
Highest quality, most features, bargain priced
Fit and finish is superb. Quality of sound is second to none. Versatile for stage, studio, or a quieter home environment. I play through this most everyday and absolutely love it. It really checks all.ofe the boxes. Like the Victory Super Duchess I have it could use more depth on the reverb. However,I have a lot of pedals for that. Looking for a great head that will do want you want it to do? Look no further and have it delivered. You will not be dissapointed.
