Shorter Scale Length. Larger-than-life Performance.

For some, the size and scope of a full-scale electric guitar can be intimidating. At Sweetwater, we believe that nothing should come between you and your creativity, and the Epiphone Power Players Les Paul is a fantastic solution to this problem. Tailor-made for beginner guitarists and players with small hands, the Power Players Les Paul sports a shorter scale length and slimmed-down body, ensuring easier playability for younger players while maintaining the core of what makes an LP so special. Its full-sounding mahogany body joins a bolt-on mahogany neck cut to a flawless SlimTaper "D" profile for comfortable, speedy fretting in all positions. Epiphone's 700T and 650R humbuckers dish out that coveted Les Paul flair with ease, with individual volume and tone knobs fine-tuning your sound to taste. Small on size yet big on sound, the Epiphone Power Players Les Paul is ready to rock whenever you are.

Fine-tuned for younger players with plentiful accessories

Where the Power Players Les Paul truly shines is in its unique and player-focused optimizations throughout. This comes in the form of a shorter, 22.73-inch scale length and a smaller body, solidifying this 6-string as an excellent choice for younger players and anyone with smaller hands, or those in need of a portable axe dishing out high-octane performance. Additionally, a sculpted neck heel allows easy access to the Power Players Les Paul's upper frets, critical during those searing solos that skyrocket up the fingerboard. Epiphone included a handy set of accessories to get you started right out the box, including a strap, picks, an instrument cable, and a gig bag for safe storage.

Classic LP tone courtesy of Epiphone humbuckers

The sound of a Les Paul can be heard across countless recordings in practically every genre imaginable. To deliver this iconic tone, Epiphone went with a pair of in-house designed humbuckers tailor-made to conjure the warmth, richness, and power of a vintage set. When it comes to hot and heavy lead tones, the 700T in the bridge fits the bill, perfect for hard rockers of all stripes needing power and clean-cutting clarity onstage. Flip to the 650R in the neck, and you'll encounter a thicker, mellower sound, ideal for rhythm playing and cleaner passages. With humbuckers like these, you can rip through your favorite songs while forging your own sonic path!

I love this guitar!

An excellent value! Looks great and plays great. I am very happy with my Les Paul! That is her next to my Gretsch!

Fun Guitar but Needs Some Improvements

This is a really fun guitar, for travel, for small players and just to have on hand.

I had to exchange mine two times, as there were some issues. The first one had a neck that was not stable enough to my taste and also had a nut that was a but rough around the edges. The second one had some other issues (although they were minor, but at this time can't remember what, exactly). And the third one (the one I kept) also had some cosmetic issues with the nut. That's the one that ended up in my video review, attached here.

I also think the tuning machines are not the best that Epiphone could have included, for the price, and I was never a big fan of this type of bridge (but that's just a personal preference).

Overall, it's a good guitar, priced low but could use a few improvements.

I would recommend (good for the right player) but would advise to look closer.

A real beauty!

I owned a Gibson Les Paul Custom in the 70s and then a Les Paul Classic a few years ago. My favorite guitar currently has been an old Gibson Melody Maker that I customized by adding a P-90, a mini-humbucker and Grovers. However, I have been thinking about another Les Paul. When I saw the Epiphone Power Players Les Paul in a slightly reduced size, I had to take a chance. It was a good choice as this guitar is a real beauty! It plays well, has an excellent sound and the quality of the instrument and its finish is a 10. I could recommend this guitar to anyone, especially new players or anyone wanting a great take-along instrument. I gave it 5 stars for the instrument but would like to have an option of an appropriately sized hard case. I was told none exist at this time. It will likely travel in one of my other hard cases as I have never been too excited with gig bags. Sorry Epiphone. Some people say it is too expensive when compared to other reduced-size guitars but I disagree wholeheartedly. I got my money's worth with this one!
Music background: Have played in bands for 40+ years, mostly pop, country and Christian. (but there was an occasional polka band back in the day....)

Great Guitar

I've been waiting a long time for Epiphone to make a guitar like this. I'm really enjoying it. Great playing and great sounding. The guitar did need a truss rod adjustment to keep the action at a good level. I did change the pickups out to a vintage voiced set I had laying around the house. I love the grab and go aspect of this guitar. Sweetwater always gives top notch service.
