Unveils Every Detail in Your Mix

Featuring a refined amplifier design, the Kali Audio LP-6 V2 is among the most accurate studio monitors you’ll find in its price range — in fact, it stands up to speakers that far exceed the modest price tag. The LP-6 V2 unveils every detail in your mix — it’s brutally honest. Nothing is boosted or attenuated to mask flaws or spice up its sound: what you hear is what you get. In addition to a ruler-flat frequency response, the LP-6 V2 exhibits negligible levels of distortion, ample headroom, and impressive low-end extension for a 6.5-inch speaker. Experience a massive soundstage with spot-on imaging, courtesy of the LP-6 V2’s cutting-edge waveguide design, while its low-noise port tube yields clean, punchy bass. Plus, it sounds excellent in a myriad of environments, thanks to its boundary compensation EQ. At the end of the day, you need a studio monitor that you can trust — and the Kali Audio LP-6 V2 delivers on all fronts.

Second-generation refinements yield sonic excellence

Despite so many rave reviews among studio engineers, Kali Audio saw room for improvement with the LP-6's already impressive sonic signature. The LP-6 V2 features a refined amplifier design that lowers the noise floor even further than it was, and offers a smoother high frequency response too. The LP-6 V2's Boundary EQ settings have been tweaked based on user feedback, enhancing transparency when your monitors are positioned close to a wall or on a desktop. And with the LP-6 V2’s lower-mass woofer design, you’ll experience even more detail and clarity in the bass regions.

Transparent sound reproduction for mixes you can trust

The LP-6 V2 offers ultra-transparent sound reproduction, enabling you to hear every detail of your mix. This starts with an exceptionally accurate frequency response. There’s nothing hyped about this speaker: its dual-layer, large-diameter voice coil exhibits a crystal-clear sound with negligible distortion — a full 6dB lower than its nearest competitor. At continuous reference-level output, the LP-6 V2 boasts at least 20dB of headroom to allow for transient spikes. What’s more, this studio monitor employs larger magnets and voice coils than others in its class, resulting in super-accurate low-end response and impressive low-frequency extension. At Sweetwater, we’ve found that the LP-6 V2 empowers you to mix with confidence. Once you dial in your music on a set of these monitors, it will sound great everywhere.

Cutting-edge waveguide design yields rock-solid imaging

When you listen to a speaker, you hear both its direct sound and its reflections. When the reflections are consistent with the direct sound, the speaker sounds better. Its stereo image will sound three-dimensional, enabling you to observe subtle details such as spatial information and microphone placement. The Kali Audio LP-6 V2’s cutting-edge waveguide design minimizes unwanted reflections, thereby preventing the smeared sound stage that’s inherent in many low-cost studio monitors. With the LP-6 V2, you’ll know the exact location of every instrument in your mix’s stereo field. This will also you to mix faster, and produce better results.

Low-noise port tube exhibits clean, punchy low end

One of the LP-6 V2’s most novel features is its low-noise port tube. Many port tubes emit turbulence, as air leaves the tube at different speeds from different points of the opening. This turbulence produces chuffing, a noisy sound that obscures the low-end details of your mix. The LP-6 V2’s port tube, on the other hand, ensures that all of the air exits at the same velocity. The end result is clean, punchy bass with zero added noise.

Boundary EQ ensures optimal sound in any environment

A speaker’s position in a room drastically affects its frequency response. Even if your room is acoustically treated, your studio monitor’s sound will change if you place it near a wall or on a desk. What’s more, hard surfaces like walls and the top of your console will skew your monitor’s frequency response, degrade its sound, and give you false auditory information. The engineers at Kali Audio understand this, and they baked a solution directly into the LP-6 V2: its Boundary EQ. Tuned to perfection at The Village Studios in Los Angeles, the LP-6 V2’s Boundary EQ supplies you with presets that are tailored to eight common speaker placements. You also get LF/HF trims for fine-tuning the speaker’s response. With the LP-6 V2, you’ll be able to optimize its response, no matter what environment you’re mixing in.

VERY SLEPT ON STUDIO MONITORS AND COMPANY

Despite not being a big name in conversations about studio gear, after just two days of using these KALI monitors, I'm already a fan. I've had experience with top-tier brands like ADAM and BAREFOOT, and I know it might sound crazy, but these KALI monitors can stand toe-to-toe with them. It's not just about their sturdy build or sleek appearance; it's their sound quality and astonishing flatness that got me hooked. They're like truth-tellers for your ears, giving you exactly what you need to hear—no more, no less. They blend modern excellence, classic accuracy, and immersive technology seamlessly. Whether you're on a tight budget or swimming in cash, these monitors are a stellar choice. I've tested numerous monitors in this price range—H SERIES, T SERIES, JBL's—and trust me, these reign supreme under $1000. Forget the phone, earphone, or car tests; what you hear from these monitors is what you'll get everywhere. KALI audio isn't a brand to overlook. Even in an untreated room, these monitors balance lows, mids, and highs flawlessly, delivering exceptional results. For anyone serious about their music craft, these monitors are a must-have

Great Monitors

Just got these today. Only had about 2 hours so far with them. However my Axe FX III sounds amazing though them. Great cleans and tight high gains I play mainly Metal and is amazing through these.

LOVE them.

Bought a pair of the previous generation a few years ago on my sales rep Jared's recommendation (Thanks Jared!) and they far exceeded my expectations given the fairly modest price tag. You can read all about the specs so I won't go into all that. Simply put - they sound amazing. Go there.

Excellent monitor

There are a handful of excellent $ monitors out there -- Adam, Yamaha, etc. I demoed them in-store (admittedly not the best environment) and gave the edge to the Kalis. You won't go wrong on the Adams or Yamahas; it's a preference thing.
But I've been really happy with the Kalis; they do seem to punch above their weight. Very clear and detailed. The bass is tight and punchy. I'm a drummer recording drums and I'm really happy with the kick sound. Playback of recorded music is fantastic.
The setup was easy using the dip switches. And I like the front facing ports. I didn't have to to a lot of treatment on the walls behind the speakers. I have them set according to the Kali specs -- in an equalateral triangle about 4 feet on a side and with the tweeters at head level. The sound field is excellent and things panned center sound like they are comeing from the center -- like from an invisible center speaker.
I strongly -- really strongly -- recommend running these through a dedicated interface and not straight out of the computer unless your computer has specialized A/D converters for recording. Just going from the headphone/mic combo jack on even a high end laptop will not let these monitors shine and you'll likely be disappointed. But it's not the monitors! I tried three configurations: straight out of the computer, with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (1st gen) and an M-Audio 192/6. The best sound was with the M-Audio.
I'm very happy with the Kalis!
