Georges and his son Leon, an accomplished clarinetist, merged old-world craftsmanship with scientific advances in acoustic design and manufacturing to produce a line of clarinets with remarkable playability and consistency. Leblanc launched Leblanc USA in 1946 with the assistance of Vito Pascucci, who had earned a reputation as a skilled instrument repairman for the Glenn Miller band. While Leblanc France focused on creating professional-level instruments, Leblanc USA turned its attention to crafting high-quality student instruments, which were released under the Vito imprint in 1960.
