Reviews

Love Native Instruments!
This thing is awesome! You can't beat it for the price. Sure there are cheaper but the software and ease of use make this thing great. This is the second NI controller I have owned. The first was the A49. The extra keys are nice but it took up touch space. If you are a series piano player get the largest one you can afford. If you are semi series but not really a full time player than a 49 will do you good. But if you are a guitarist or something just looking to add a few effects or someone who travels you can't beat this one. The small keys make it easier to play. Don't let the lack of wheels scare you the touch strips work fine. I would personally pick this one any day over the 25 key version.

The hellish tones produced by this device can raise the dead. Buy one now. For your peace of mind.

You'll put your eye out, kid!
Man the edges of this thing are sharp. It will poke you hard if you aren't careful; NI needs to throw some chamfers on these bad boys. Also, what's up with the buttons? All that clicking and clacking is louder than a 70's TV remote - paging through presets and pages creates an unholy racket.

Great key bed though, like an adorable little DX-7, and decently sized. More springy and much less squishy than Arturia. Velocity is meh. Pots are actually pretty decent; good resistance and grip.

Dependency on Komplete Kontrol software for full functionality is a drag, but does make editing parameters on virtual instruments a bit more accessible. Make sure to watch some YouTube videos if you are already in other ecosystems like Arturia. Setting up MIDI CC stuff is pretty decent, and paging through controls is reasonable, so this makes for a good alternative to KK if you want to spend the time mapping your controls. Of course, you need KK Software to actually set up and configure the MIDI CCs before you use them, so...

The LCD screen is surprisingly functional despite its size, and MIDI CCs can be named so mapping to your favorite synth is pretty effective, provided you can take an upper limit of 32 continuous controls and no buttons / switches.
Perfect on the go
I got this to supplement my existing rig with a portable unit for my laptop. Works like it should. Perfect for making beats.
A great choice for students and beginners!
It took me a solid three or four months of learning as much as I possibly could about MIDI keyboards online and in class before I finally felt confident enough to make my purchase and I am happy to report that the M32 was well worth the wait. It is sleek, affordable and comes with a limited amount of knobs and buttons, which makes it quite easy for a student/beginner like me to learn how to properly utilize all of its features for entry-level sound design and music production. The keyboard is also ideally-sized for fitting on smaller desks, on beds and for taking along on a commute! In addition to all of those positives, I was fortunate enough to have purchased the M32 when Sweetwater and Native Instruments offered it alongside a software bundle at no extra charge and said bundle has been a dream to create with! Even without the bundle, I would recommend the M32 to any music production, sound design or audio engineering student! There are dozens upon dozens of MIDI keyboards available for sale but, in my opinion, the M32 is the ultimate bang for your buck!

I had a chance to play this the other day and really liked it. The keysize, build quaity, feature set and price really make this a great value for the Komplete owner. Be careful though, it will be a gateway drug to the Komplete Kontrol S series of Kontrollers and Maschine.
