4-channel Keyboard Mixer Cleans Up Your Act and Boosts Creativity

So what's cool about Radial Engineering's Key Largo keyboard mixer? Only everything! Tour tough and super-compact, this mixer gives you dual analog inputs for three keyboards, USB connectivity for your laptop, effects send/receive jacks, two isolated and balanced XLR outs, and effects and sustain footswitches. It can even function as a handy 2 x 2 interface for recording through the USB port.

A capable mixer with a tiny footprint

The Radial Key Largo takes up less space than three keyboard pedals, but a lot of power is packed into that small chassis. On the rear panel, left and right analog inputs for three keyboards eliminate the need for multiple DIs. The EFX send/receive jacks let you throw your outboard effects on those vintage keys that don't already have them, and you get two mono outputs for monitors as well as left and right transformer-isolated and balanced XLR main outputs. Controls for the monitor level and main level are conveniently located on the front panel, next to your global EFX Send and EFX Receive level knobs.

Multifunctionality for a simplified setup

The Radial Key Largo sports a stereo volume pedal connection — so there's no need to bring one for each keyboard. The right-side momentary latch footswitch also functions as a sustain pedal, so by making use of the MIDI ports you can control all your keyboards with just one switch! Throw in the left-side EFX on/off footswitch, and it's easy to see why the Key Largo is your new best friend onstage.

2 x 2 USB recording expedites imagination

When inspiration strikes, the Radial Key Largo steps up: You can use it as a 2 x 2 interface for quickly recording ideas, new sounds, or whole songs. The USB connection is great for triggering soft synths too, and there's no need to hook into a separate interface — the Key Largo has it covered.

Radial Engineering Key Largo Features:

  • Tough and handy with 14-gauge steel chassis and a compact design
  • Inputs for multiple keyboards eliminates the need for multiple DI boxes onstage
  • Built-in monitor and main up-front level controls save space and allow for a custom mix
  • Control all your keyboards' sustain with 1 well-built momentary footswitch
  • 2 x 2 USB recording so you can capture ideas quickly
What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items

Reviews

Finally!
Genius! 3 keyboards in stereo, two sets of stereo outputs. Takes away the issues with one keyboard signal being stronger than others pregain. The sound man can control you volume perfectly and you can control your stage monitors ir stereo amp perfectly. There are two sets of outbound volume controls one for your monitors and one for the sound mixer. Abd a ground lift for each.

Used it twice since I got it last week in two venues.,The soundmen were super happy. and it is a keyboard players dream. Just wish they made a 4 keyboards model. Once in a while I use 4.
Quality of subtle synth sounds from keyboards
I've noticed before that I'm losing something from my synth sounds when I'm forced to send out from the "L-mono" only due to limited capacity on whatever board I'm using. Recently, I used the Key Largo box to get stereo out of all three keyboards at an open mic, sending only two cables to the board. The quality of each sound was great. I hung on single notes to let them develop - it changed how I played. The comment I got afterward was "That was wild!" Also, using this box made setup easier and quicker. Now I use it when I practice to better appreciate and use the nuances of synth sounds in my music. Nice device, thanks.
Super Versatile Workhorse
Radial always makes quality gear, and this is no exception. Key Largo is built like a tank and has exactly what you need for mixing up to three keyboards, plus effects. It replaces both a mixer and a DI box. I really can't say enough good things about this box. I recommended it to our other keyboardist, and he loves it, too. Radial makes high quality tools for problem solving. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny.
Updated Review
After using this for a year, I'd like to update my review.

Previously I wrote: " As a previous user noted, the send and effects implementation is frankly useless at least for my purposes; this shortcoming, however, didn't prevent my buying it."

I was wrong. Unless you need a completely wet signal, the send and receive is fine. The wet and the dry signals are combined, if I understand things correctly.

Run your synths directly into the Key Largo. You can dial up the FX on your pedal, using the pedal's potentiometer, individual channel FX and Master FX controls on the Key Largo to dial in the sound. It has been working perfectly for me.

Yes, there's no headphone jack, but you have monitors out. Most people in a live setting will prefer monitors. You could also use a small mixer into the monitor sends then plug in headphones.

The rest of what I wrote is spot on:

The first time I sent my Moog Minitaur through this, I said, "WOW."

Before buying this, I used a Tascam Model 12 with good results, but the Key Largo is next level. All the favorable comments written by other users about the headroom, body, and clarity are true. I had considered the KL-8, but I haven't the space to have so many synths hooked up at one time, so I went with this.

I'm using this as a way to hook two or three synths to Logic Pro and studio monitors.

If you prize sound quality and need an audio interface, you could do far worse than this.

It's an excellent audio interface. It's built to last. And it handles both stereo and mono synths with ease.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Well done, Radial!
Solid, easy to use, works as advertized
I am only using this to mix three keyboards to one set of audio outputs, but it does this well. It is built like a tank, and has a lot of other features I hope to use in the future.
