KAT Percussion KTMP1 Multipad Drum Module at a Glance:
  • An awesome alternative to a typical practice pad

  • Flesh out your acoustic kit with cool electronic sounds
An awesome alternative to a typical practice pad

Whether you're just getting started on the drums or simply need something smaller than a full kit you can use for routine practice, then you're going to get a ton out of the KAT Percussion KTMP1 Multipad. The KTMP1 gives you four distinct velocity-sensitive zones you can play with sticks or your hands, and you can call up 50 high-quality, fully adjustable sounds, which makes it easy to create cool and interesting rhythms. What's more, the KTMP1 includes an 1/8" headphone output, so you can practice without plugging into a separate sound system or bothering your neighbors.

Grab-and-go drums for all kinds of gigs

One of the things about the KTMP1 that immediately caught the attention of the drummers here at Sweetwater are its two pedal inputs. What makes these inputs so cool is that they allow you to hook up a kick drum trigger and a hi-had controller, turning your KTMP1 into a mini drum kit. Pop it on a snare stand and you're good to go. Now, instead of even having to haul around a cocktail kit, you can throw your whole percussion rig in a bag and bike to your next gig if you like.

Flesh out your acoustic kit with cool electronic sounds

If you've been looking for a way to trigger off cool electronic percussion sounds at your acoustic kit, then the KAT Percussion KTMP1 Multipad is the perfect addition to your drums. It's small and easy to position between your drums, and the four zones offer plenty of percussion power you can use to add booms, chirps, and other hard fun electronic sounds.

KAT Percussion KTMP1 Multipad Drum Module Features:
  • A compact electronic drum pad and percussion instrument anyone can afford
  • Play the 4 velocity-sensitive pads with sticks, mallets, or your hands
  • 2 pedal inputs support a kick drum trigger and a hi-hat controller
  • Easily mounts to most standard snare drum stands
  • Choose from 50 high-quality built-in drum sounds
  • USB and MIDI output let you control virtual instruments and synths
  • Included stand bracket fits most standard 7/8" stands and multi clamps
If you want simple electronic percussion, then grab a KAT Percussion KTMP1 Mulitpad!

Reviews

Priced for everyone who want to start on drums!
The solution for my dream hybrid kit. I don't want a bulky bass drum, so i paired this to simmons kick trigger. Usable sounds except for tom which is too electronic. But when used as midi controller on garageband, you can get more realistic acoustic sounds. So my hybrid kit goes like this: Gretsch Blackhawk 12x5.5 (snare), Zildjian 13" i (hi hats), Zildjian 16" i (crash), Zildjian 10" i (splash). Then the KAT is Bass, Ride, Tom, & Crash 2. Perfect for a beginner in drums like me. The best is, it does not require a lot of real estate in my music room. And of course, when the missus is sleeping, i can play it all by itself and use headphones. So i have a hybrid kit, & electronic kit, for any situation!

This is a great tool especially at it's reasonable price lots of fun easy to use

Works exactly how I envisioned
I give this five stars based on my personal uses for the instrument. I bought this because I needed (okay WANTED) an ultra portable drum set. Using a Yamaha KU100 trigger for the kick drum and a standard keyboard sustain pedal for the hi-hat controller, I have my ultra portable set. I have a kit programmed to have hi-hat, snare, tom, crash cymbal and bass drum. Along with the required stand, cables, drumsticks and small throne, I can break this whole setup down to fit into a backpack. That said, the drum set sounds need to be customized. This is simple to do, but it does take time and patience to get them exactly where you want each pad to sound with tuning, sensitivity, etc. adjusted according to your preferences. The pads feel much like a practice pad and I have never experienced any crosstalk. Additionally, I can mount it to the rack of my full sized electronic kit to augment the percussion capabilities. This little machine does everything I expect and want it to do.
Fabulous Pad
This is one of the simplest electronic pads on the market. Also, one of the least expensive. I don't mind that the hi-hat controller and bass drum kick trigger are separate. In a previous review it was stated that the KAT KT-HC1 is paired with the pad. Most of the voices are good and clear. There's a slight learning curve, but once you've got it, it's straightforward. I'm having a lot of fun with this unit.
Great little affordable multipad
This little guy has great sounds and the pads very responsive. I've played small gigs with it through my Bose S1 Pros.

I would use it more if it had 6 pads and could use a hi hat controller instead of a switch.
