Kramer's Pacer Has Been Rocking Since 1983

Shred until you can't on the Kramer Pacer Vintage solidbody electric guitar, it can take it. This solid maple body is packed with dual Seymour Duncan pickups that will hit your amplifier with aggressive tone and impressive sustain. Take the Pacer Vintage's Floyd Rose tremolo for a ride, while the locking nut ensures your tuning stays precise. All the while you'll look great on stage, with a fast-playing guitar that sings as well as it screams. Call Sweetwater to get the guitar that helped invent '80s rock: the Kramer Pacer Vintage.

Wide-ranging tones from Seymour Duncan JN and JB humbuckers

That clear, defined tone you hear out of your amplifier comes courtesy of the Seymour Duncan JN and JB humbuckers in the Kramer Pacer Vintage. The JN at the neck position is tuned for warmer, smoother tone, while the JB at the bridge serves up hot, searing lead tones. For maximum tonal range, dual push/pull volume controls give you access to series and parallel pickup coil configurations.

Floyd Rose tremolo leds you shred with exceptional tuning stability

Shredding and wild whammy bar antics go hand in hand, so Kramer gave the Pacer Vintage a smooth Floyd Rose tremolo bridge so you can squeal and divebomb all night long. And because it's got a locking nut, you'll maintain your tuning stability even when you're rocking your Pacer Vintage as hard as you can.

Kramer: rocking hard since the '80s

Kramer guitars were at the forefront of the '80s metal scene, with endorsements from pros like Eddie Van Halen, Neil Schon, Richie Sambora and others. Kramer guitars like this Pacer Vintage have been the guitar of choice for some of the hardest rocking guitarists in the world. You're getting more than a great value with the Kramer Pacer Vintage, you're getting a guitar that's built to rock.

Kramer Pacer Vintage Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • All-maple guitar based on the original 1983 Pacer
  • Thin-taper elliptical neck profile sets an ideal foundation for fast fretwork
  • Maple fretboard with 14-inch radius allows big bends without fretting out
  • JN neck humbucker is wound to 7.74k ohms for warmer, smoother tone
  • JB bridge humbucker is wound to over 16k ohms for hotter, biting tone with excellent definition
  • Push/pull volume controls let you select series or parallel pickup coil configuration

Absolute ripper

Get the guitar. Crank it to 11. Let the licks (and the locks) flow like it's 1987.

Spandex, eye liner, and 3rd gen Camaros not included (but you should have those already).

It's a great guitar for what you're paying. A good setup goes a long way though. This thing loves .11's, dropped tunings, and high gain. Only issue I've encountered is the spring for my bridge pickup was shot and I needed to replace it. The finish is a sight to behold and will be the envy of lesser guitar aficionados.
Music background: All over the place, but I’ve been playing guitar for years and have owned dozens at this point.

wield your own Mjöllnir, but with tiger stripes!

Backstory- The first bass guitar in my household was a Kramer from the 80s. I remember it being obnoxiously heavy, but it was our only bass, and we played with what we had.. even though my brother and i weren't the biggest fans of it. we were happy to sell it. I remember seeing used Kramers every now and then at used guitar shops, i would reflect upon my distaste for that old bass, and never bother to give another Kramer a test drive.

that said, i was apprehensive on this purchase. i love the Tiger finish. but, i was genuinely worried "i'm not going to enjoy playing this guitar, and i'll have to send it back.. ugh.. i dont want to deal with that, even though Sweetwater is like "its totally fine!!", i still dont like doing that.. ...

but i pulled it out of the box this morning, tuned it up, and it sang without being plugged in. i plugged it in and it belted out the power!

this my friend, is an ELECTRIC guitar. there is something truly electrifying about holding it and riffing away. its like holding Mjöllnir, but with Tiger stripes.

the neck- is fast, flat, and built for speed. i was expecting something thick, but no.. this is thin with a buttery smooth taper. its mind blowing how comfortable and fast the neck is. youll be two hand tapping in no-time.

the body- the contours are tailored for maximum comfort, balanced with ease.

the hardware- solid. push pulls on both volume knobs for each humbucker. switch is tiny, but easy to access. floyd rose, with tools attached to the back of the headstock. convenience!

the sound- its a JB and a Jazz. thats like.. rock n roll 101 "you wanna rock?!" humbuckers. will i upgrade them? probably not, they sound really really good!

this guitar destroyed my low expectations and has made me a fan and a believer in Kramer guitars.

do you want to shred? do you want to rock? do you like tigers? then this is the axe for you!

BEST POSER GUITAR FROM THE 80s

As I have enough 'old man" guitars(or so my younger friend says that grew up in the 80s), I thought I would show him up with something a little different than Les Pauls and Strats. Although I have a few Ibanez guitars, namely a Joe Satriani JS Series and a Steve Vai Floral Jem, I figured those weren't "poser" enough for my friend. I was well aware of all the 80s brands like Charvel, Jackson, BC Rich, ESP, Ibanez and Kramers. I lived at a time when guitar was just as fertile as hormones. Playing in bands back then was truly a magical time. Unfortunately, I tossed my spandex, mascara and big hair long ago.
Not liking what I was finding with the other brands not really paying homage to such an iconic era, I picked Kramer as technically they were seemingly the first on the block back in the early 80s. It also got down to body style and the most important requirement and thats the insane finish.
I tried one of the Pearl White Kramer Pacers to at least get a feel. I actually didn't find it that special. I noted it had my fave pickups by Seymour Duncan, especially the JB in the bridge. Also noted...its HEAVY. The body is maple just like the neck. I found a bit too much finish on the neck. But it sounded so good that I just had to order the Bengal Tiger one! When it arrived I was thinking I may not keep it with all that neck finish but for some reason mine has a light finish. When I plugged it in, there was no tweaking at all as the guitar roared right out of the box. As Kramer's slogan says its "ready to rock hard". I had to change to a lighter gauage of strings and adjust the Floyd Rose bridge accordingly. I also tune a half step flat as standard tends to tire my old fingers. The guitar also has coil taps on the knobs to make each pickup single coil. Don't use the coils though. The bridge says Floyd Rose but it may be a cheaper version. Doesn't matter as it stays in tune despite whammy abuse. Just wish they would have put a bigger toggle switch on as it tends to hurt switching with a flick of a finger. Wish it would include a proper Kramer case as well as mine was in a cardboard box when I got it.

Great Guitar

This guitar looks awesome. But how it plays is what matters. The sustain just kills and I love that. The sound is big and powerful. It stays in tune. I mean it STAYS in tune better than any of my other 3 guitars. I'm super impressed with this guitar and it has become my favorite. The neck is pretty thin...not as thin as my Ibanez, but close enough. That's important for me because I have little hands and short fingers. This guitar plays and sounds like a beast--making it perfect for 80's tunes. Love it. It's a lot of guitar for the price. Zero regrets on buying this bad boy.
