If you are using one of the K&M table stands - either 18950 or 18953 - you will NOT need adapter kit 18814 to accommodate the tier arms. K&M stands like the 18810 and 18820 DO NEED the adapter kit 18814.

I originally purchased a set of these to add a second tier to a Jam Stand table-style keyboard stand, which only accommodates one keyboard. Unfortunately, the millwork on the teeth of the adjusting mechanism don't seem to be in sync from one arm to another. I could never get the arms to correctly align horizontally, and always ended up with sag/droop to one side.

After realizing that I needed somewhere to put a tablet holder and instead of using a mic stand or third-party accessories from Triad-Orbit to hold the tablet, I dug these out of my gear closet and discovered I could remove the tier arm and simply use the post as my tablet mount point.

If you buy this kit, 18952, you basically get kit 18814 included in the price, about $ here on Sweetwater; that means the tier arms account for the other $ or so in the price tag. For those who bought the 18817 mic holder, kit 18814 is required and is not included. If you need the mic holder as well, buy THIS kit and the mic holder kit and you're set.

Definitely a handy pickup for K&M stand owners.
