Go Pro - with JBL

JBL's JRX225 2-way passive PA speaker gives you professional performance affordably. JBL engineers reexamined every element of the speaker system design, kept everything that makes a speaker perform and sound its best, and redesigned things that don't. For increased efficiency and power handling, the JRX225 sports two 15" low-frequency drivers, each with a 2.5"-diameter edgewound ribbon voice coil that provides more cross-sectional wire area in its voice coil gap than round-wire designs, while a 1" polymer-diaphragm compression driver maximizes high-frequency performance and system reliability. Need PA speakers? Go pro with JBL's JRX225.

Reviews

Best Customer Service EVER!
I was pressed for time to put on an event; I couldn't get the sound system we had to work. I needed a large sound system that would last. I called Sweetwater and spoke with Jake Barker; he was more than amazing and got us the sound system we needed. The Patriots Day event was the best ever, thanks to our sound system. Jake was an absolute stud. I will always think of Sweet Water when I need anything. Thanks Jake!

Awesome Old Friends
This is my second set of JRX225s. I am just adding them in with my older set and my new JBL PRX818XLFW 18" Powered subs. I keep my equipment in a controlled environment which is good for guitars and speakers. The old JRX225s sound as good as the new ones. After owning the one set for many years, I can say, the only issues I have are with the zippers on the soft covers and well meaning neanderthals who want to help.

A pair of these work great on their own in a small to medium venue. Due to their configuration, they handle the low end surprisingly well. But when fed through a crossover and adding the two PRX818XLFW subs WaHoo!

Some people have told me in their opinion, think they sound muddy. When properly EQ'd you get clean crisp sound and very clear vocals. It really is all in the set up.

Durability: These can take a serious beating and come up sounding great. Mine have been hauled off into the woods by a bunch of bikers (truth be told, they were as safe as if they were in God's pocket), humped into the back of my pickup countless times over the year in less than ideal conditions.

There's a club in town that uses a pair for their house PA. The club owner bought them used probably 20+ years ago. They have had countless amateur sound engineers try to blow them up, They have beaten the jack plate up to where it was nonexistent, replaced it and did it again several times, but these guys just keep working.

I don't believe the speakers at this particular club sound as good as mine, but they are not stored in a climate controlled environment and they get used far more often than mine and they get used by some less than competent Sound Techs.

I am anxious to add my new JRX225s to my mini array and see if I get the full sound I am expecting in a large (EQ friendly) room.

Love Those JBL's
When I got my speakers I had my neighbor who has been playing guitar in a band for years. He is also a sound man, and a disc jockey for a local radio station. Not only I, but he also was totally impressed with the
JRX-225's. As we got busy setting them up into my sound system and tweaking the mixing board & 3,000 watt amp we both agreed that they were awesome sounding speakers. The low's are robust but not as such to take away from the crisp clean sound of the mid's and high's. I might add that when my bass player came out to jam he fell in love with them too. So far I have played my Strat, my Tele, and my LP and each one of them sound better than they ever have before.
Damn Good Speakers!!
I was blown away with these speakers for so little money. The guys there at JBL Pro sure knew what they were doing. I'm actually using these speakers for my living room setup. 15'X32'. I will modify these cabinets using the JBL 2226H Drivers. Anyhow you can't go wrong with JBL Pro Speakers. You won't be sorry! Nice people at Sweetwater as they help me with my purchase. I still have several components I will be purchasing from in the next coming months.

These speakers were primarily bought for a home system. They produce every bit of sound at any volume. I have shopped stereo stores but nothing compares to the JBL JRX225
