Own the Iconic Sound of the ’80s

A faithful re-creation of a legendary early-’80s synthesizer, the Behringer JN-80 features a pure analog signal path built around authentic digitally controlled oscillators and period-correct 3109 VCF and 662 VCA chips. Perfect for everything from retro synth pop to modern synthwave, the JN-80 delivers eight polyphonic voices with discrete oscillators offering saw, square, and pulse-width waveforms, paired with a classic, 3109-fueled 24dB lowpass filter. Flexible Unison, Double, and Poly modes yield powerful multi-voice leads, massive basses, and rich layered textures. Moreover, the JN-80 replicates the original unit’s lush — and undeniably iconic — multi-stage BBD chorus. A sub-oscillator and a global noise generator expand your sonic depth even further, bolstered by a feature-laden arpeggiator for added rhythmic excitement. You also get a powerful LFO for modulation duties, polyphonic portamento, spring‑loaded pitch and modulation wheels, and a 49‑key semi‑weighted keyboard with velocity sensitivity and polyphonic aftertouch. Finally, the JN-80 features streamlined control via an LCD display and encoder, 200 presets, Assignable Preset Recall switches, and 400 user preset slots with a compare‑and‑match function, while comprehensive MIDI implementation and Pedal/CV inputs ensure seamless integration into any setup. Ultimately, the JN‑80 packs iconic analog character, modern control, and unmistakable ’80s soul into one inspiring instrument.

Vintage inspiration faithfully reimagined

The synth aficionados here at Sweetwater have been steadily impressed by Behringer’s offerings, and the JN-80 is no exception. This vintage-inspired model authentically re-creates one of the most iconic polyphonic analog synthesizers of the 1980s, housing an expertly engineered signal path with genuine digitally controlled oscillators, a 24dB lowpass filter based on a period-correct 3109 chip, and classic 662-driven VCA architecture, all working in harmony to deliver the unmistakable sonic textures of yesteryear — complete with the lush BBD chorus that elevated the original to such legendary heights.

Eight voices, infinite possibilities, hands-on control

Replete with eight fully polyphonic voices, augmented with versatile Unison, Double, and Poly modes, the Behringer JN-80 contains the tools you need to sculpt massive bass lines, soaring leads, and shimmering analog pads that sound warm, wide, and chock-full of ear-grabbing character. Crafting sounds is incredibly intuitive, thanks to a tactile, knob‑per‑function interface with dedicated control sections for the LFO, DCO, HPF, VCF, VCA, Envelopes, and Chorus, making everything from spine-tingling cinematic textures to pulse-pounding cyberpunk motifs effortless to create. You also get a built-in arpeggiator with an adjustable Rate slider and multiple playback modes, enabling you to infuse your textures with groove and movement, while external tap‑tempo support lets you lock in your rhythm with pinpoint precision.

Modern memory meets preset perfection

While the original ’80s-era synth offered limited patch storage, the JN-80 expands this capability, enabling you to save up to 400 presets, each reinforced with a unique compare-and-match feature that allows you to quickly align your analog controls and stored settings. Additionally, Assignable Preset Recall switches provide you with immediate program selection. Beyond that, the JN‑80 includes 200 factory presets, incorporating 100 premium sounds from Ultimate Patches — Volume 3, so you can hear the JN-80’s true-to-life, vintage-inspired timbres right out of the box.

TRULY the Juno-60 Reborn - AMAZING!
This thing is vintage magic personified. I am the sound designer of the JN-80's 100 premium-quality factory presets in Banks A-E, so I can say this is the closest to a Juno-60 that I've played — in most ways IDENTICAL in sound to my own vintage Juno-60, however the JN-80 has several more additional features (more lfo waveforms, various voice modes + envelope shapes, random detuning option, more arp options, etc).

There's magic in these sounds that the similar-looking Deepmind 12 can't quite reach (specifically, that glorious warm analog Juno-60 chorus, the unique filter response, the VCA's punchy attack, etc).

Check out the video demonstrating the factory presets in Banks A-E (aka JN-80 Ultimate Patches — Vol. 3) so you can hear it for yourself. Behringer hit a home run on this Juno-60 clone!
