Pro Vocal Booth for Home Studios

Who has the space or the budget for a full-sized vocal booth in their home studio? If a traditional vocal booth is out of your reach, then you're going to love the ISOVOX 2 home vocal booth. This all-in-one portable vocal booth completely isolates you from the shoulders up, locking in your voice and blocking out any outside sound. Sweetwater engineers have tested it out and found that the ISOVOX 2 doesn't just keep room sound and reflections out of your mic, but it lets you sing away without annoying your neighbors. The ISOVOX 2 comes complete with an LED light, a mic clip, and an integrated mic stand. All you need is a heavy-duty studio boom or tripod speaker stand, and you're good to go.

ISOVOX 2 Home Vocal Booth Features:

  • A complete all-in-one vocal isolation booth for your home or project studio
  • 31.49" x 19.29" x 18.89" design completely encloses your head and shoulders

  • Integrated mic stand and clip accommodate most microphones (up to 11.02" long x 3.14" deep)

Reviews

Love it!
I saw another review that was 1 star and had the complete opposite experience. It works perfectly for my needs. I'm finally able to cut professional sounding vocals in a reflective space that's unsuitable for vocals. Tried different solutions, but I'm limited in space so it had to be something that could break down. The thing that really impresses me and my friends who have tried it, is the minute you step up to it your just immersed in dead space. You instantly feel like you're in a sound booth.

It takes me about 10 mins to assemble and 5 to break down. When it's assembled, it's huge. Not something that I can leave put together all the time, but I usually build tracks and only need it by the end. The box it came in is 32x19x14 inches, so that's how much space it takes up when broken down. I just had to make room for that and the stand when I'm not using it.

As mentioned I tried different solutions. Those behind the mic, clip on pads, no matter how big, are a joke. I have the wall mounted one that opens up, but again the room still reflects all over the place. I even built one out of a cardboard box that lowers onto the mic, that I still use for podcasts, but the reflection is still there.

What can I say. For me this was a total win.

Nice addition to my home studio
Where I live in an upstairs apartment, with a noisy air condition and some outside noise, I needed way to record my vocals without disturbing my neighbor below me and eliminate some of the outside noise. I came across the ISOVOX 2, yes it's a little pricey, so I did a search for reviews on the Vocal Booth from several different sites. Most of the reviews I read were positive, and with only 2 days before Sweetwaters 48 month special financing would end,I decided to make the purchase. ISOVOX was on backorder , the special financing would still be good as long as I purchase it before the special ends. When I log into my account and went to select the ISOVOX midnight to purchase it, a demo also was available for $150 less. It just came up, it wasn't there a day ago. I talked to my sales rep and it was a return, so I decided to purchase the demo instead of waiting. When it arrived I inspected it and really couldn't find anything wrong it. Anyway I put it together and gave it a test drive. Here's my findings, it did cut out a lot of the background noise that I was use to hearing. Where I had a small storage closet with some room it I decided to put the ISOVOX in there to see what happens. Wow ! no background noise at all. My main DAW is Studio One Pro and I can control it remotely with my iPad. You do have some room for your iPad inside but it's tight, I have 3 iPads and one a iPad mini, so I use my iPad mini for words for inside the booth and my regular iPad to control my DAW outside the booth. Final thoughts, every one has different needs, so you really can't decided just by reading all the negative reviews, for my needs this will work. Anyway I'm glad I made the purchase, this was a nice addition to my home studio.

Thank you Sweetwater.
Has largely solved my problems
Recording from a wheelchair has been extremely challenging in a home studio environment. I was having massive issues with reflections from walls, despite significant 4-inch foam panels. This this has virtually eliminated all of those issues. My preferred microphone is a Sennheiser MKH 416 shotgun, which is somewhat awkward in a box this small. But I have been largely able to make it work...though I am still working on dealing with plosives. And I get a lot of muffled low-end stuff with this, which, of course, can mostly be addressed with EQ (but it would have been great if they had some sort of wings option to cut down on this). I am using it with the flap that supposedly flips down behind your head up (not in use). So my head really isn't inside it at all. I'm using a tablet for voicing scripts, and a bluetooth mouse so I don't have to reach inside. Overall, it's quite a functional setup. Can't believe how effectively it has eliminated those room reflections.

Home Studio Vocal Booth
I am very happy I've added this booth to my home studio. Workflow is improved when tracking vocals. The LED light helps me read my lyric sheets as I'm tracking. The microphone remains dust free while inside the booth. When I feel ready to record vocals I just insert the XLR cable into my audio interface and I'm ready to track. I find I get better vocal takes when I am in the booth with no monitor or other visual distractions. The folding front door panel is great, if the booth gets warm inside I just flip the door for a minute and it cools quickly. I like to keep a cup of hot tea beside the booth so I can keep tracking when I am in a nice flow.

Isovox SO GOOD!!
I've always would had to setup up a closet to use as my vocal booth. This has made everything a lot better. I recommend it 1000% will get the job done!
