Serious Upgrade for Your Speakers

From heavy amps to full-sized PA speakers, the IsoAcoustics plus-sized ISO-Puck delivers the acclaimed acoustic isolation on a larger scale. These 3-inch-diameter, 1.5-inch-tall ISO-Puck 76 discs sit between your speaker's feet and the floor, where they tame the transfer of vibrations between the cabinet and the floor or other surface it's sitting on. Cupped tops let each cabinet's foot nestle securely in place to prevent misalignment and tipped over gear. Each ISO-Puck 76 disc can handle up to 40 lbs. individually, and since they come in sets of two, it's easy to get all the support you need.

Decoupling made simple

Decoupling is a remarkably simple concept. When your amp or speaker sits directly on a surface, it's considered coupled with it. That coupled surface then effectively becomes part of the speaker, resonating at a lower frequency than average and creating false bass notes. In the studio, that means you'll hear bass that isn't really there, which will affect your ability to make good mixing decisions. Live, coupling your amps and PA speakers with hollow stages and hard floors creates booming bass that can overwhelm your venue or crank up the stage volume until the band can't hear themselves play.

How do these things even work?

The IsoAcoustics ISO-Puck 76 is designed to sit between your speaker enclosure and whatever it's sitting on. A sandwich of sophisticated polymers allows your speaker cabinet and the surface it's sitting on to move independently, minimizing the amount of vibration that can pass from one to the other — whether that's the elimination of false lows to pass from your speaker to the floor/stand or rumble in the floor from traveling up your mic stand and into your mic.

Isolation where you need it most

Everyone can look at an IsoAcoustics ISO-Puck 76 and know it's meant to go under the feet of amps and speakers, but that's not all they're good for. Here at Sweetwater, we've gotten great results putting ISO-Puck 76 discs to use in less conventional ways. For instance, we've gotten great results by placing standard ISO-Pucks under regular mic stands, and ISO-Puck 76s are perfect under the feet of large studio booms. So look around and get creative. However you put your ISO-Puck 76s to work, we're sure you'll love them.

Reviews

IsoAcoustics Iso-Puck 76 Surprisingly Effective, But Pricey.
I purchased the IsoAcoustics Iso-Puck 76 to enhance the sound of new Klipsch Forte III speakers. The Forte III's are part of Klipsch's Heritage series, weigh 72 lbs each, and sound best when raised 8 to 12 inches from the floor. I had some Auralex Subdude HTs already, and I'd tried standing the Forte III's on them, but the speakers needed more height, so I bought more Subdude HTs and built two stacks of them, with four in each stack. I placed the speakers on those, but needed to get them even higher, so I tried hard rubber anti-vibration foot blocks intended for laundry washer/dryers. That increased the speakers' height fairly close to where it needed to be and improved the bass response, as well. I didn't want to modify the speakers to use IsoAcoustics' ultra-pricey GAIA feet. So, I tried two Iso-Puck 76s at the front corners of each speaker, with the hard rubber anti-vibration blocks at the rear. I liked what I'd heard, so I bought more Iso-Puck 76's and placed one beneath each corner of each speaker. It was a revelation. Most know that Subdudes are used to decouple speakers, subwoofers in particular, from the floor to reduce boom and vibration. However, the addition of the Iso-Puck 76s further decoupled the speakers and the improvement in clarity and presence of bass was quite profound. I think I found the sweet spot in relation to speaker weight (72 lbs each) and Iso-Puck model (the 76s support 40 lbs max per puck), at 45 percent of Iso-Puck 76 capability. So, for my application, the IsoAcoustics Iso-Puck 76s are working very well. I recommend them as effective, but pricey, improvements.
Crazy Tech but WORKS!!
Now Im able to turn up the speakers without vibrating the floors. The bass is tight, the mids and highs are more detailed. Total upgrade!!!

All the reviews
hello all, I basically bought these based on the reviews and counsel of others saying that they'll improve what I hear. They bring down the height of my monitors on my desk which I like. I love my Core 47's they will sound awesome no matter what you put them on. I can't really say how much better they( Iso pucks) sound yet but they definitely give you a more professional look in your studio.
