Headphone amp

works great. I did have to order a stereo 1/4" cable. Thank you. I wish I would have found this 15 years ago.
Music background: 70 years old and started playing drums and percussion since 5th grade.

Opening is a potential bear

The opening to install the batteries is very problematic. I solved the problem somewhat by gently shaving off the aluminum straight edges on the two components with a small round ratatail file. Not much mind you. I did not let the files fall onto the circuitry either. If you are not comfortable doing this then dont do it. Just press the button all the way down. Otherwise it works great. Has a stiff knob for the volume and this is great because it maintains the volume setting very well. I like it. I use it with a single ear headphone. Makes a good monitor situation while allowing you to hear yourself and stay in tune singing.
Music background: A long time.

Works as advertised

In our band, we use individual IEM mixes with Xvive U4 wireless. We decided to reduce the number of wireless 2.4 GHz transmitters on stage to minimize interference and the headaches of spectrum management. We selected the Art HP-1 over other similar designs based on the Fischer amps. As the tile says, it "works as advertised". One of the deciding factors was the detailed specs ART published for it. The audio quality is good enough for stage use; it wasn't too noisy, the volume had sufficient headroom and it paired well with the KZ XS10 Pro earbuds. The build quality seems sturdy, but we'll see how it holds up to gigs and practices over time.

Our only initial complaint was the there was some looseness when assembled (it rattled) that had to be remedied using a small rubber band as a gasket on the XLR end.

Faulty Release Latch

Electronically it performed as expected once I could get it open to install the batteries. However, I could not push hard enough for the release cap/button to allow the housing to slide off. There is not enough clearance. Only when the button cap was removed through the top could the unit be opened. The cap/button seems to have threads, but it won't hold with the amount of strength needed when the case is on. Unfortunately, the button will not stay on the spring mechanism tight enough to hold the cover on secure. Will return it and see if this is just a one-off issue.
