Tube Tilt for Mastering
The Tube-Tech HLT-2AM upends the traditional EQ paradigm, combining low- and high-frequency shelving plus high- and lowpass filters with the ingenious T-filter midrange "tilt" EQ in a revolutionary stereo tube equalizer optimized for mastering. Tube-Tech's innovative T-Filter "tilts" the entire sonic spectrum around a selectable midrange frequency. Above that point, frequencies increase (or decrease) while frequencies below that point decrease (or increase). Sweetwater engineers find this a powerful and highly efficient way to quickly zero-in on gorgeous-sounding overall EQ. With its finely tuned boost/cut range and stepped controls for easy settings recall, the Tube-Tech HLT-2AM is an ideal broad-stroke mastering EQ for project studios, high-end mastering suites, and everything in between.
Beautiful broad-stroke equalization
If you need to zap an obstreperous frequency without causing collateral damage, the HLT-2AM is not the right tool. But if you have use for a broad-brushstroke EQ that imparts sonic beauty to everything you feed it, the HLT-2AM will serve you well. It works wonders strapped across your stereo mix bus, but its unique features also make it indispensable during tracking. It breathes life, warmth, and personality into a signal and gives it palpable dimension within your mix.
Instant sonic gratification
The HLT-2AM is a stereo EQ featuring active high and low shelving, a passive T-filter, and passive high- and lowpass filters. The shelving EQs are designed around a high-gain tube amplifier, while the T-filter and low/high-cuts are passive filters positioned before the output amplifier, after the active shelving EQ. The T-filter works intuitively, like a seesaw: with a clockwise turn of the pot, the high end goes up and the low end goes down — and visa versa. Tube-Tech has provided a bypass switch for each section, plus an overall bypass switch that eliminates all filters from the circuit but leaves the output stage in; so you can warm up a signal without EQing it, should you so desire. In operation, the HLT-2AM is a joy to use, mainly due to the speed with which you can obtain sonic gratification. Put one in your mastering chain — you will be amazed and delighted.
