Authentic Nylon-string Tone with Electric-style Comfort

The Godin G-Tour Nylon acoustic-electric represents a prime nylon-stringed option for musicians who covet the comfort of a contemporary axe. Despite its deluxe combination of cedar and maple tonewoods and nylon strings, the Godin G-Tour boasts the style and feel of an electric instrument. And while its shape may be different compared to other classical instruments, there’s no question that it supplies authentic nylon-string tone. When paired with a powerful EPM Q-Discrete pickup system and a volume/tone knob duo, you’ll be well equipped to dial in the perfect sound onstage. Plus, the electronics are installed under the hood, so your G-Tour’s appearance isn’t compromised by unsightly hindrances. If you’ve never explored the wonder of classical guitar tone on a tried-and-true chassis, the Godin G-Tour from Sweetwater is your key to the kingdom.

Electric or acoustic?

Technically, the Godin T-Tour is both, but its nylon strings obviously infer the latter. Its contoured double-cut shape may replicate the style and comfortability of a modern electric instrument, but don’t be fooled: the solid cedar, hard-rock maple, and silver leaf maple tonewoods inside its hollow body propel a warm nylon tone. Without the electronics engaged, the G-Tour functions as a classical nylon guitar. Looking for a reason to start experimenting with the wonderful world of acoustic instruments? Thanks to the G-Tour, your time has come in comfort.

Inconspicuous pickup control

Hidden inside the G-Tour’s fan-braced body lies an EPM Q-Discrete active electronics system. Up top, you'll find master volume and tone knobs, ensuring you can iron out the perfect classical-inspired sound for any amped-up occasion. Best of all, the Q-Discrete lies just under the soundhole, providing a virtually electronics-free visual aesthetic while supplying massive acoustic output.

Optimized instrument hardware

Whether you decide to use the G-Tour as an acoustic road warrior or as a stage companion, its optimized hardware will ensure that you are getting the job done in any scenario. A comfortable “C”-profile neck provides that familiar electric feel while granting access to the entirety of the fretboard. Up top, sealed tuning machines allow for easy intonation adjustment and keep you in tune during extensive playing sessions. Finally, the G-Tour’s top-hat gold bridge pins and rosewood saddle create truly authentic vibrations, allowing the G-Tour to provide true tone in both acoustic and electric settings. No matter your playing style or musical preferences, the G-Tour retains its functionality as a high-performance instrument.

Godin G-Tour Nylon Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Nylon acoustic-electric guitar with a slim electric-style body for top-notch comfort
  • Cedar, silver leaf maple, and hard-rock maple tonewoods deliver tight resounding output, perfect for classical styles
  • Active EPM Q-Discrete pickup with volume and tone knobs provides a bright output with clean under-saddle placement
  • Standard “C”-shape neck profile and semi-gloss finish facilitate a smooth playing surface and unparalleled fret access
  • 12-inch radius rosewood fingerboard with circular pearloid inlays
  • 1.65-inch Graph Tech nut and sealed tuning machines yield stage-ready performance, outstanding intonation, and strong tuning stability

Godin G Tour Nylon

I'll be honest, I had no idea what to expect, I even started having regrets before I even got a chance to see it, I've been an electric player for years, in more recent years started becoming curious about nylon string guitars , but just couldn't get real excited about getting and playing a traditional classical guitar, I've known about the godin multiac , was semi interested but just wasn't really ready for the wide really flat fretboard, started getting more interested after watching Lee Ritinour play his $ Sadowsky, anyway browsing through Godins website i come across this guitar, I'm kinda going WHAT!, then started reading about it, now I'm interested, slim fast neck, feels kinda strat like, maybe a tad slimmer, just sorta feels that way , it's super light, maybe 5lbs, matter of fact most of the weight feels like it's in the neck and headstock,so thats probably contributing to a slight bit of neck dive, but it's not anything at all to me, thought I'd mention it.But it plays great, sounds really good through my fishman loudbox, super fun to play, it's taken some getting used to,plus it is better looking live than in the pictures, it's put together nicely like all Godins, do not regret having this guitar at all, if you want something different, that plays great and sounds great, this might be for you
Music background: Longtime mostly electric rock/ blues/jazz player
