Very impressive

First off I gotta say they are tiny, with that being said for a small desk or bedroom setup they are perfect. The bag and everything they come with are great, my only complaint is the power cord could have been a little longer. The overall sound is amazing. Of course the low end lacks, but they are only 3 inch woofers. So for me I just got a small sub and boom!!! I highly recommend these if you need something portable or with a smaller footprint.

These are great for the size, but the auto-standby could be a deal breaker

It's amazing the type of sound you can get out of something so small. These aren't going to compete with larger, traditional studio monitors, but I picked these up as an alternative/mobile option for a smaller space, and they work great as sometimes-mixing, sometimes-pc speakers.

My only complaint with these models is they have a "hidden" feature, auto standby. This is not mentioned anywhere in the product listing, and is only briefly referenced in the manual with the labeling of the volume knob as controlling standby.

The issue is, these speakers, if they do not receive a loud enough signal within 15 minutes, will go into this auto-standby mode. Once activated, you won't hear anything until you double tap the volume button to reactivate the speakers. An input signal won't re-activate them, and it takes several seconds to power back on. This means if you're relying on these as PC speakers when not mixing audio, you'll never hear something like your discord alerts or other notification sounds unless you are constantly keeping them on manually or with background music/sound running on your PC. This makes it extremely frustrating to use. I kept missing timely audio alerts for important client messages and email pop ups because the speakers would just turn themselves off and I wouldn't hear the notifications.

According to KRK Systems, this is to satisfy an EU power saving mandate and there is no way to turn it off. That's very unfortunate because of the impact it has on daily use, and it's even more unfortunate that they don't tell you this before you buy them! If I had known about this auto standby feature before buying, I would have skipped over them and gotten something else.

I wound up solving the issue by writing a custom python script to send an inaudible ~10hz tone to the speakers every 10 minutes just to keep them from going to sleep. I shouldn't have to do this, and now I have to remember to disable that script whenever I do a PC audio capture. What a mess!
