Nashville Goes Center Block

For classic Gretsch tone and style, you can't beat the Nashville — now enhanced with a chambered spruce center block. The Gretsch G6620T Players Edition Nashville Center Block semi-hollowbody guitar sports a comfortable, lightweight 16" double-cut laminated maple body and a lower neck set for the ultimate in playing comfort. This elegant axe comes with luxurious touches like gold hardware, a classic Gretsch horseshoe headstock inlay, and a silky-smooth ebony fingerboard that will let your fingers fly. A duo of High-Sensitive Filter'Tron pickups serve up legendary Gretsch bark and bite, making the Gretsch G6620T Players Edition Nashville Center Block your go-to axe for studio and stage.

Chambered spruce center block enhances your sound

You get a lot of tonal bang for your buck with the Gretsch G6620T, thanks to its long spruce center block. Running the full length of the body, this chambered center block allows the otherwise hollow body to resist resonant-frequency feedback. That means you can rock out louder with more gain, without your amplifier squealing out of control. Spruce is a snappy tonewood too, and since the center block connects with the bridge, the note definition, clarity, and sustain on the G6620T are amazing.

Lower-set neck for a more comfortable feel

We've played a lot of guitars here at Sweetwater, and we know that not all players are comfortable with the "traditional" Gretsch feel. Gretsch knows this too, which is why they've set the neck lower on the G6620T for greater playing comfort. If some Gretsch semi-hollowbody guitars feel cumbersome to you, get your hands on the G6620T — it was made just for you.

Excellent build quality and unique tones

I can find no flaws in the build quality of this guitar. It is very comfortable to play, and the filtertron pickups are less bass-forward than typical humbuckers but can still pull off screaming distortion. Every note is very clear. It does go out of tune quite frequently, but I suspect that is just a feature of the bigsby tailpiece. Eddie K was super helpful during the purchasing process. 10/10 would recommend.

A Modernized Classic

Just like my other Terada-made Gretschs (a 2007 6120AM and a 2017 6131T) this one is beautifully crafted. It is flawless and plays and sounds great. I particularly like the fact that the designers of this and other Player's Edition Professional Gretsch guitars are not afraid to make changes to the basic vintage formula to improve the stability and reliability of these unique instruments. The fixed Adjustomatic bridge, lowered fingerboard (closer to the body), locking tuners, and Bigsby B7CP string-thru vibrato all contribute to a guitar that is very easy to play and stays in tune. I have friends who get all precious about vintage features, and that's fine, but a guitar I can afford and rely on is worth more to me.

I realize that the appearance of this guitar may not appeal to everyone, but I personally love it. The trademark oversize f-holes and orange stain finish just say ROCK 'n' ROLL.

Best guitar I’ve ever played

The fit and finish on this guitar is some of the finest I've ever seen on an instrument no matter where it was made. This guitar sounds clean and clear. Well worth the extra investment over an Electromatic model, plays and sounds so much beyond my other Electromatic 5420tg. Well worth the extra price!
