Excellent build quality and unique tones

By Sweetwater Customer on February 28, 2024

I can find no flaws in the build quality of this guitar. It is very comfortable to play, and the filtertron pickups are less bass-forward than typical humbuckers but can still pull off screaming distortion. Every note is very clear. It does go out of tune quite frequently, but I suspect that is just a feature of the bigsby tailpiece. Eddie K was super helpful during the purchasing process. 10/10 would recommend.

A Modernized Classic

By Sweetwater Customer on June 12, 2023

Just like my other Terada-made Gretschs (a 2007 6120AM and a 2017 6131T) this one is beautifully crafted. It is flawless and plays and sounds great. I particularly like the fact that the designers of this and other Player's Edition Professional Gretsch guitars are not afraid to make changes to the basic vintage formula to improve the stability and reliability of these unique instruments. The fixed Adjustomatic bridge, lowered fingerboard (closer to the body), locking tuners, and Bigsby B7CP string-thru vibrato all contribute to a guitar that is very easy to play and stays in tune. I have friends who get all precious about vintage features, and that's fine, but a guitar I can afford and rely on is worth more to me.

I realize that the appearance of this guitar may not appeal to everyone, but I personally love it. The trademark oversize f-holes and orange stain finish just say ROCK 'n' ROLL.

Best guitar I’ve ever played

By Sweetwater Customer on November 24, 2021

The fit and finish on this guitar is some of the finest I've ever seen on an instrument no matter where it was made. This guitar sounds clean and clear. Well worth the extra investment over an Electromatic model, plays and sounds so much beyond my other Electromatic 5420tg. Well worth the extra price!
