Pickups from a legend in the industry
Thomas "TV" Jones has been making waves in the world of pickups for over 25 years, and Brian Setzer was one of his earliest fans. The pair of signature Filter'Trons in the 6120 were actually chosen by Setzer in a blind test run that Gretsch put him through years ago. As he tried one after another, he kept coming back to the tone of one particular 6120. Setzer was blown away by how clean it sounded when finger-picked without having to change any settings on his amp. He also noticed when he switched back to flat-picking this 6120, the tone reverted to a grittier sound — again with no changes in his amp settings. When Setzer asked about the difference between this particular model over the other 6120's the answer came back: TV Jones. He was sold. And from that day forward Setzer has played TV Jones-designed Filter'Trons to get his legendary tone. In addition, the tone options don't end with these incredible pickups alone. A 3-way pickup selector and master volume control offer more tone-shaping options as well.
Neck built for speed and feel
The maple neck with rosewood fingerboard on the 6120 is cut to a Vintage "V" profile that invites fast lead runs and comfortable chording up and down the neck. The 22 medium jumbo frets also add to the comfort of this incredible neck, and the dot side markers and neo-classic thumbnail inlays give it a captivating visual presentation for both you and your audience.
