Chambered Double-cut with Broad'Tron Pickups

The Gretsch Electromatic G5222 Jet BT Double-Cut with "V" Stoptail electric guitar is the perfect way to get your hands on a real Gretsch for a great price. The G5222 Jet offers you the full, warm sound of a chambered mahogany body with a maple top. A pair of Broad'Tron pickups lets you tap into the definitive tone of Gretsch's signature humbucker sound. And a mahogany neck with laurel fingerboard also brings you the familiar Gretsch feel and playability. Finally, a "V" Stoptail bridge provides a vintage look as well as great support for staying in tune. Gretsch guitar lovers here at Sweetwater are big fans of the value-packed Gretsch G5222 Electromatic Jet BT.

Superb tonewood pairing

The G5222 Electromatic Jet electric guitar represents the timeless Gretsch tone by not shying away from a chambered mahogany body. It may not be the lightest tonewood around, but it is known for its rich, deep tone. A time-tested maple top also adds to the vintage tone of this guitar. The all-mahogany neck with laurel fingerboard is the proverbial icing on the cake as this combination is known for its delicious tone.

Blacktop Broad'Tron pickups give you classic Gretsch humbucker tone

When you want a '50s-era Gretsch guitar tone, you need real Gretsch humbuckers. That's why Gretsch gave the G5222 Electromatic Jet a pair of Blacktop Broad'Tron pickups. These humbuckers give you traditional Gretsch growl and grit, as well as deliver pristine clean tone when needed. In addition, individual pickup volume controls, master tone, and master volume with treble bleed circuit provide exceptional tonal range and control, putting you in the driver's seat as you explore your own style.

Gretsch G5222 Electromatic Double Jet Electric Guitar Features:

  • Vintage Gretsch stylings at a great price
  • Pair of Blacktop Broad'Tron pickups provides signature Gretsch sound
  • Chambered mahogany body and laminate maple top add bright overtones
  • Thin "U"-style neck for instant playability and feel

This should be your First Gretsch

If you are looking to delve into the world of Gretsch, this should be your first, (trust me, it won't be your last). Great playability, it's beautiful, and "That Great Gretsch Sound". I really like the Blacktop Broadtrons, they sound different than the other Broadtrons I've heard, more growl.
It does have some neck dive, something to consider if you normally play standing.
Overall, this will be a great addition to any axe collection.
Music background: Recording engineer.
