The Epitome of Flying V Ferocity

The Dave Mustaine Prophecy Flying V Figured meets at the aggressive intersection of thrash metal fury and 6-string elegance. This highly limited-edition signature instrument starts with the classic late-period Flying V formula of a fast-playing mahogany neck and a matching mahogany body, but the top takes a different turn; the AAA flame maple veneer top and sleek ebony fingerboard pushes this Flying right over the aesthetic edge. To keep up with this guitar’s bold looks, Epiphone loaded the Dave Mustaine Prophecy Flying V Figured with a dual pairing of Active Fishman Fluence pickups that are specially voiced to capture the warmth and sonic might of a classic PAF-style humbucker. What’s more, you also get a convenient push-pull control to access singing single-coil tones when it comes time to dial down the heat. Simply put, the Dave Mustaine Prophecy Flying V Figured’s hard-hitting combination of take-no-prisoners tone and Epiphone elegance is a surefire way to set you apart from the metal pack.

Top-class tonewood overhaul

The Flying V may have begun life as a korina creation, but mahogany has arguably been the de facto tonewood for this angular instrument’s tenure as a metal icon. Why? Sweetwater guitarists agree that mahogany’s natural warmth and full-bodied response impart weight, authority, and formidable sustain to your leads and low-string riffage — all must-have qualities if you’re looking to dish out a helping of Mustaine-style brutality. Moreover, the Dave Mustaine Prophecy Flying V Figured takes a leaf out of its single-cut sibling’s book — this guitar’s mahogany body is finished off with a gorgeous piece of AAA flame maple veneer that’s sure to capture the eyes (and the ears) of any audience.

Classic 24.75-inch scale length

Dave Mustaine has played quite a few “V”-style instruments in his 40-plus-year tenure at the helm of heavy metal, yet even his signature Gibsons typically sport an elongated scale length of 25.5 inches — around 0.75 inches longer than a typical Flying V. To switch things up, Dave opted for the latter on the Epiphone Dave Mustaine Prophecy Flying V Figured to give this guitar a slightly looser feel, much more akin Gibson and Epiphone’s usual 6-string output. If you’re for an axe that can authentically cop a few riffs and rhythms off Rust in Peace or Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?, but boasts the easy playability of a standard Gibson 24.75-inch scale length, the Epiphone Dave Mustaine Prophecy Flying V Figured fits the bill.

Epiphone Dave Mustaine Prophecy Flying V Figured Electric Guitar Features:

  • Highly limited-edition Dave Mustaine signature model Flying V — Sweetwater only gets 41!
  • Mahogany body imparts warmth and weight to your every note
  • Gorgeous AAA flame maple veneer top is sure to capture the eyes of any audience
  • Mahogany neck in a lightning-fast profile, designed to Dave Mustaine’s specs
  • 24-fret ebony fingerboard in an easy-playing 12-inch radius
  • Classic Gibson/Epiphone 24.75-inch scale length provides a looser, more comfortable feel than Dave’s typical long-scale Flying V models
  • Active Fishman Fluence pickups capture the warmth, depth, and tonal firepower of a classic PAF-style humbucking pickup
  • Elegant 5-ply binding around the body for a touch of extra class

WOW!!!!

WOW ! I got my Dave Mustaine Flying V and I had it pit on the PLECK machine. I own around 36 guitars from my 1974 all original Les Paul to my 76 Strat and a 1965 Ovation Thunder Head and 2 beautiful Telecaster's . To say the least i have played a lot of guitars and this signature Dave Mustaine is by far the smoothest player in my family of guitars. It's beautiful and light and has sustain for day's. The neck is thin yet feels strong . If you get this guitar pay the extra for the PLECK it is seriously worth every penny. I will never buy another guitar without it being done. This is my new number #1.

Super happy with this guitar most angular shapes for guitars are nevk heavy but ive been jamming hard and not once did this guitar neck dive . The tone alone is amazing the playability is to notch super smooth and beautiful. Even dave said he was partial to this version hail hail

Mustaine V Shredder

I've always loved V's and when I got this one, I was blown away. I paid the extra to have it plek'd. So worth it. The best playing, and feeling guitar I have. I'm loving push pull pots, even the tone pot has push pull. Excellent sounding guitar plus it holds it's tone so well. The locking tuners make it so easy to change the strings in a pinch. It's more time playing and less time fumbling. It also has a volute which helps strengthen the neck at the head stock. I just love this guitar. Oh and by the way this was my first internet purchase guitar. Very impressed. No damage during shipping or anything. 5 star perfect.

Tone Monster

This beauty has quickly turned into one of my favorite guitars. I was a little hesitant at first because of the price but the quality and the playability has been outstanding. The tones are simply superb as well! Hands down a worthy addition to my collection.
