An LTD with Looks, Tone, and Feel

The ESP LTD EC-1000 is primed for performance. Its mahogany single-cut body and set-through mahogany neck unleash truckloads of resonance and sustain upon your amp of choice, and its eye-grabbing quilted maple top is sure to garner jealous stares. From modern metal to classic rock, this solidbody electric guitar has you covered for a wide range of musical styles. Its feisty tone is full of power, served up by Seymour Duncan JB and '59 humbuckers (with a push-pull control for a range of tones too). The EC-1000 features a TonePros locking Tune-o-matic bridge/tailpiece and locking LTD tuners to give you precision intonation and stability. Factor in a modern-radius ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets, and the ESP LTD EC-1000 has all your bases covered for high-gain chuggas to creamy classic solos.

Single-cut body style blends classic looks with modern performance

Nothing screams hard rock like ESP's LTD Eclipse body style. The extra mass of this single-cutaway design gives the LTD EC-1000 truly epic sustain, whereas its slightly arched top provides comfortable hand positioning no matter what your playing style. Add to that a super-sharp cutaway for easy access to all 24 frets, and you're equipped for all manner of rock, metal, and shred tones.

Powerful and aggressive tones from Seymour Duncan humbuckers

The combination of Seymour Duncan pickups in the ESP LTD EC-1000 gives you the perfect balance of tone shaping and sheer destructive power. The SD '59 neck pickup boasts the grumbling low-end sound you crave with a hint of high-end chime. The SD JB bridge pickup sharpens things up with a snarlingly aggressive attack that effortlessly cuts through just about any mix — all with complete tonal versatility, courtesy of the EC-1000's 3-way pickup selector switch with tone and volume controls. With this collaborative pickup duo, you have an ultra-powerful, intimidating sonic tonal palette that makes this axe sound just great as it looks. Guitarists at Sweetwater agree: this pickup combination is primed for modern rock and metal.

TonePros bridge and LTD locking tuners

Players who are choosy about tuning, action, and intonation will delight in the LTD EC-1000's Tune-o-matic-style TonePros bridge/tailpiece and locking LTD tuners. The TonePros is a common aftermarket upgrade on many single-cut guitars. Its six adjustable saddles provide precise intonation and enhanced sustain for chords and leads. At the other end of the guitar, a set of LTD locking tuners provides slip-free performance, for stage and studio tuning stability you can depend on.

ESP LTD EC-1000 Electric Guitar Features:

  • Single-cut Eclipse body style provides access to all 24 frets
  • Seymour Duncan JB and '59 neck and bridge pickups supply some impressively aggressive power
  • 3-piece, Thin "U"-profile mahogany neck is comfortable in the hand
  • Modern 350 mm radius Macassar ebony fingerboard
  • TonePros locking Tune-o-matic bridge/tailpiece streamlines setup, maximizes sustain
  • Locking LTD tuners give you stage- and studio-ready tuning stability

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

I like this ESP, not a Wannabe!

So, I've had my ESP LTD EC-1000 Duncan for a few months, and 4 or 5 gigs I really do like it. I play Rock Originals and Classic Covers, some Country. This thing is sonically versatile, with good tone through all of my amps. It's a good player for a good price and it seems like it's going to be a work horse. I like the coil taps and the pups overall, good clean and grit and it punches through the mix well. Most of my guitars have 24 frets so I feel right at home on the neck. Is it a Les Paul Custom? Definitely not. But what you get for the price tag is, in my opinion, a good deal. It's got a killer look to it as well, very sweet.

How about a more fair and honest review.

It's an LTD. It doesn't say ESP on the headstock. I'm use to buying LTD instruments and adding upgraded parts after the fact. However, a guitar this price point shouldn't have any of these issuse upon arrival: It had a burr in the low E tunning peg that I had to file out. It came with rough or unfinished patches on the satin finish both on the neck and body. I used some ultra fine sandpaper for those. Last but not least. This guitar comes with the same cheap bridge that LTD uses in their lower end models. As a relsult this "deluxe" model had a bridge saddle that jammed do to a stripped screw. I had use my dremel tool to fix the screw.

After all that BS. It played like the LTD brand I know and love. Sounds great. Plays well. That's why I'm keeping it. The push/ pull feature on the pickus is very nice. I'll be upgrading the bridge. The LTD locking tuners work surpingsly well for now.

I think this was either a B-Stock item, over just overpriced. I shouldn't have to do any upgrading or repairing of any kind for something that was $ in total. Still a good guitar. Just a disappointing on the quality control end. That's all.

B Stock Guitar at an A Stock price.

My model came with a bunch of issues. Unfinished rough patches on the Satin finish.
Cheap and faulty bridge complete with a stuck saddle and stripped screw. I've had less problems with cheaper guitars. Can't say I recommend this one. Feels very much like buying overpriced B Stock that was listed as New.
