Beautiful Beginner Guitar from Epiphone

For beginning and emerging guitarists looking for wonderful tone, playability, and design, the Epiphone Starling acoustic guitar is a real stunner at an amazing price point. The Starling features a layered spruce top and layered mahogany back and sides, a storied tonewood combination known for its full, rich tone and robust projection. A mahogany neck with laurel fingerboard also offers stellar response and playability as you explore chords up and down the neck.

A classic body shape

The Epiphone Starling is cut to a classic square-shoulder dreadnought body shape — arguably the most sought-after body style in acoustic guitar history for its comfortable, balanced design and big volume. That comfort and volume are especially important for players who are just getting started, since being comfortable and hearing yourself clearly help you take those little leaps forward on the instrument.

Neck designed for comfort

The mahogany neck on the Starling is cut to a “C” profile, maximizing comfort for your hand while you learn new chords and picking patterns all along the neck. The smooth Indian laurel fingerboard features dot inlays that keep you oriented to your position as you play. The legions of guitarists here at Sweetwater agree the Epiphone Starling is a great starter acoustic!

Best starter guitar ever!

Good starter and campfire guitar. Reasonable price for a quality descent sounding guitar. I'm happy, plan on giving it to my nephew for birthday!

It’s ok, really

The old saying "for the money it's worth it " applies in this case. I received the guitar in excellent shape from Sweetwater (as usual). The Starling theme is innovative actually, it kinda puts the owner into the Dove,Hummingbird vibe, (Epiphone style). I'm not saying at all that the Starlings is even close to a Dove etc…BUT…if you are watching your cash because of inflation, this could be your "Bird of paradise" , no pun intended. I honestly could not criticize the quality, I had fun adding an in hole pickup, lowered the action, adjusted a few things here and there and ended up with a really neat guitar for a family member. Another option could be an under saddle pickup. Tuners are the typical cheap style and should be the first thing to replace, but not necessary, everything else is good. If taken care of, after a good setup, you could have a great guitar to pass around the family or friends to learn how to play guitar for years to come. Cheaper guitars, years and years ago, were nothing but junk. Now, affordable guitars are so so much better quality. The guitar industry should do better economically cause people will move forward buying more appointed guitars in the future. Alternatively, quitting guitar all together because of buying junk like the old days. In summary, in my case, this is a good guitar for the money and cool looking too.
