A Worthy Upgrade Over the Original D-BOX!

The original D-BOX can be found in both project and professional studios worldwide. Its practical fusion of analog summing and monitoring has earned it countless accolades. The D-BOX+ eclipses its predecessor, thanks to an upgraded summing mixer, more speaker outputs, mastering-grade D/A, Bluetooth connectivity, remote operation, and more. This indispensable box will help you achieve that elusive “glued-together” sound, and you’ll hear your mixes like never before — it’s one of the easiest ways to advance your project studio into the pro league. The D-BOX+ — it belongs at the center of your studio.

8 channels of analog summing to pump up your mix

When you bring up Dangerous Audio, the first thing that pops into most people's minds is analog summing. After all, they invented the standalone analog summing mixer in 1999 with their groundbreaking 2-BUS — and the original D-BOX brought this exciting technology to project studios everywhere. The D-BOX+ features an upgraded 8-channel summing mixer that’s guaranteed to inject new levels of headroom, dimensionality, and clarity into your mixes. Get the D-BOX+ and your panning will become more precise. Reverbs and delays will become more engaging. Bass will become punchier, mids more detailed, and highs more open. The D-BOX+ will elevate your mixes.

5 analog and digital inputs — and more — at your fingertips

The D-BOX+ is like a large-format console’s center section. It provides routing and switching for your studio’s inputs and outputs, both analog and digital. Five input sources are at your fingertips: analog stereo, the onboard 8-channel summing mixer, USB, AES/SPDIF, and a wireless stream from any Bluetooth-enabled device. The D-BOX+ also includes three stereo speaker outputs, which can be programmed to be mono and/or to include a subwoofer. Beyond that, you can use the third output as source for an independent sub with individual level and mute control.

Mastering-grade D/A delivers results you can trust

At Sweetwater, we like to say, "if you can't hear it, you can't mix it." That's why we love the D-BOX+. Whether you're placing a mic, tweaking an EQ, or preparing a final master, you'll hear everything. Advanced clock stabilization, top-of-class chipsets, and world-class, audiophile-grade analog circuitry add up to a D/A that’s as powerful as it is nuanced. It delivers true mastering-grade quality you can trust. You also get a pair of top-shelf headphone amplifiers that ensure clean, powerful, and accurate sound that’s tailor-made for fine-grained quality control listening. Thanks to D-BOX+’s no-compromise design, you’ll experience crystal-clear audio fidelity and flawless performance across its entire feature set.

Loaded with pro-studio essentials

Harness your studio’s full potential with the D-BOX+’s comprehensive routing capabilities. Take command of your monitoring with three independent speaker outputs and a programmable speaker selector. Benefit from an onboard talkback mic with push-button activation. Gain remote control over all of the D-BOX+’s major functions (volume, dim, talkback, I/O select, and more) with the free D-BOX+ app for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. The D-BOX+ makes a powerful centerpiece for any studio.

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Dangerous does it again!

This Summing box sounds great and is very easy to use. The controls are laid out in an easy to use manner. Headphone amps put out plenty of output..

Incredible piece of gear

I've been using this device for about 2 weeks now. The DBOX+ has made a huge difference in my workflow in terms of expanding my ability to monitor across three pairs of studio monitors without any loss of quality is by itself worth the price of admission. I really love how I can toggle between its Sum source to hear only whats coming through my Apollo post summing and then use the Analog source to monitor the effect of my mastering chain. Wwhen you throw top-notch analog summing and the ability to control it from my phone, the DBOX+ goes over the top in value-added. The unit is not cheap but it's well worth its price in my opinion and I highly recommend it. Huge thanks to my sales engineer Josh H. for pointing me in the right direciton on this unit.

I Like It!

Summing Mixers: I purchased a Dangerous Music DBox+ monitor controller & summing mixer. I was skeptical but thought if i didn't like it i could return it. lots of mixed posts about summing mixers, worth it or not. I am not addressing that.
I am gonna say first off, i had a Presonus Central Station monitor controller that i really liked. There is a very noticeable difference in the DM Dbox+ monitor amp. I am very surprised about the clarity. I am hearing things much better, especially reverbs and other effects. this is without the summing amp. just the monitor section of the unit. Even the Kali Audio LP6 have more detail now. My CLA-10As also have more detail.
Summing section: I am still playing / learning how to use it. but it also does make a difference. need to point out that i am unsure if it is good or bad. if you monitor just the summing section, it sounds fantastic. if you monitor the DAW on the summing return, it does not sound quite the same. but over all it does sound really good. I am finding that there are additional things to learn when using the summing amp. so like anything, if you don't know how to use it, it can destroy your mix, or it can make your mix better. so far i am unsure if it makes my mix better or not. but then again, i have just started using it. I think its important to have a very good monitor section in order to really hear what the summing mixer does.
Overall, i am keeping the DBox+. Even if i abandon the summing mixer sections. the monitor controller amp is well worth it. and it has some extra inputs that may come in handy at some point.
Final statement: there is a difference in both monitoring and summing. Monitoring is no brainer, no skill needed. just sounds better. The summing section needs some skill and additional learning. it may fit into your mixing it may not. but there is a sound difference. And that difference is how well you are at using it.
just sayin.

Get This!

I've had my Apollo for 4 years now and I wasn't utilizing its outputs until I got the DBox+! The sound is incredible and it really helps with panning/EQ/compression decisions. First thing I noticed was how amazing a bass synth sounded and the punchiness from a kick on an A/B comparison. A previous mix I did was more crisp and wide just by running it through the stems with no changes in processing! Did I mention headroom.....Get This!!!

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Alan Moon

In over 20 years of being in professional audio, I've experienced two big revolutions in the sound quality of my studio. The first was upgrading my clocking and conversion. The second was adding the original Dangerous Music D-Box. With the new D-Box+, Dangerous Music has taken what was already a fantastic solution for my studio and delivered meaningful new features that improve both my work-flow and my resulting audio. I consider the D-Box+ to be the single-most significant improvement I have made to my studio. It cannot be recommended highly enough.
