Classic Martin Dreadnought with a High-performance Neck

The D-41 dreadnought, first introduced in 1969, is an important installment in Martin's 185-year legacy as one of America's most celebrated instrument makers. It has been favorably compared to the venerable D-45 — though only slightly less decorated.

The latest D-41 retains the big, bold tone of previous generations, but substitutes a slimmer High Performance Taper neck for even greater playability, along with Forward Shifted X Bracing for greater bass. Its tone remains one of the most recognizable voices in American music history. Vintage-styled visuals and appointments, including an aged toner finish and open-gear tuners, give this D-41 an heirloom look. Own a piece of the Martin legacy with the Martin D-41 dreadnought acoustic guitar from Sweetwater.

Stunning detail

The D-41 features truly stunning details in design and craftsmanship. The D-41 top is inlaid with stunning abalone pearl while the entire body features a beautiful antique white binding. The mahogany neck is topped with a gorgeous ebony fingerboard with abalone hexagon inlays. The 20 medium frets have been Plek'd to ensure impeccable response and feel. Gold open-gear tuners top a stunning rosewood headstock, while a classic block overlay Martin logo inscription gives the D-41 an added vintage look.

Martin D-41 Acoustic Guitar Features:

  • Celebrated dreadnought tone and projection
  • Heirloom visuals include an aged toner finish and gold open-gear tuners
  • East Indian rosewood back and sides and spruce top deliver stellar tone
  • Forward Shifted X Bracing enhances bass
  • Slimmer, High Performance Taper mahogany neck with tonally rich ebony fingerboard
  • Plek'd for impeccable response and feel

Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap

I have played at home and on stage for over 30 years with the low-to-middle end of the acoustic spectrum, playing lots of other guitars like this that I couldn't afford along the way. I've played everything from Alvarez to Ovation to Martin to Taylor to Takamine and this D41 is just a unicorn of another color. I'm usually not one to go for anything other than a wood finish, and not a lot of bling but this Ambertone just blew me away. It's absolutely the prettiest guitar I have ever seen and is absolutely spotless. Then I played it. It is everything you could want and more from an acoustic guitar and the evenness of tone and the shimmer across the spectrum when playing it brought tears to my eyes when hitting a little, "Wish You Were Here." Many thanks to Henry and the support staff at Sweetwater for a great experience and also a special thanks to all the hard working and talented folks at the Martin factory in PA who made this incredible instrument. The joy this guitar will bring people (especially me) over the next 50 years will be hard to quantify! I already told my girls this is the guitar they will fight over when I die in 40 years or so.

CANNON

This guitar is a beast with a sound all its own but also uniquely Martin. Only Martin can produce a guitar that sounds the way it does. This guitar doesn't only sound amazing it looks absolutely stunning! The high def pictures on here can't even do it justice to seeing it in person. This guitar is truly an heirloom and will bring many years of pleasure and beautiful music. If you want a guitar that is made by a manufacture that's is surpassed by none and looks absolutely incredible then look no further, you've found it! Thank you Jake Tillman and team for another painless purchase and helping this picker find his forever guitar. Sweetwater knocks it out of the park again!

Martin D-41 Ambertone

I was tired of other guitars that sound almost just as good as a Martin. Just get the Martin already! I have played for 40 years. The monthly zero interest payment from Sweetwater is very reasonable... I called my Sweetwater Rep (Devin Cunningham - Thank you Devin!!) - worked out the details. This is a life time purchase and a family keepsake. This is an inspiration to continue to improve my playing. This is my therapy for a balance me. This makes me smile. Life is short. Be around happy people and good instruments. I wish I had bought this quality of a guitar 30 years ago. Just get a good Martin. PS - The quality and sound of a Martin D-41 are unrivaled. This is one beautiful instrument.

D41 is amazing

I am an experienced guitar player and own a Martin D18e and a HD28. I mainly play bluegrass and, like many, I am a Martin guitar fan. I tried several Martins in the showroom at Sweetwater. It was my first ever visit to the store. The salesman Greg was helpful and friendly. The D41 Ambertone that was hanging on the wall happened to be my favorite. It had the normal showroom fingerprints and signs of being played a little but I wanted a guitar to play so it wasn’t a real big deal. Greg did have new strings put on for me. It took me a few seconds to bond with it and hours to pull the trigger on buying it. It plays fast, has a clear voice, and is loud. The finish of a what you would expect from a 40 series Martin Guitar. I consider myself lucky to own it and thanks to Sweetwater for great service.
