Passive Loudspeaker You Can Count On

Expect rich, clear sound and reliable performance from the Yamaha CBR10 passive loudspeaker. With a respectable 350-watts of RMS power handling, and 94dB SPL sensitivity, these loudspeakers boast impressive performance for their compact, portable nature. Live sound engineers at Sweetwater especially appreciate the CBR10's HF-protection circuit, which prevents speaker damage from excessive input. We also dig the smart form factor, which lets you use the CBR10 as either a mains speaker or on its side as a floor monitor. However you use it, expect stellar sound and performance you can trust with the Yamaha CBR10 passive loudspeaker.

Yamaha CBR10 10" Passive Loudspeaker at a Glance:
  • Ideal for small- to mid-size venues
  • Great sound at any volume level
  • Use as a main speaker or as a floor monitor
Ideal for small- to mid-size venues

With 350-watts of RMS power handling and lightweight components, the Yamaha CBR10 is perfect for small- to mid-size venues. Whether you're in a band, a gigging DJ, or run a sound-for-hire rig, the CBR10 will serve you well in a variety of applications.

Great sound at any volume level

The Yamaha CBR10 puts out full, punchy sound at any volume level thanks to two specific components. An extremely sensitive LF driver puts out powerful bass even when you're not driving the speaker hard. And when you do want to push your system to the max, an HF-protection circuit prevents excessive input signals from damaging the tweeter, so you get clear sound throughout the entire volume range.

Use as a main speaker or as a floor monitor

Yamaha designed the CBR10's cabinet with a 50-degree wedge angle. This allows you to place the speaker on its side and angle it up for use as a stage monitor. Especially if you're equipping your school or church with PA gear, you'll appreciate the dual-function versatility of the Yamaha CBR10.

Yamaha CBR10 10" Passive Loudspeaker Features:
  • Passive loudspeaker with lightweight plastic cabinet
  • Impressive 350W RMS power handling
  • 1/4" and speakON inputs for flexible connectivity
  • HF-protection circuit prevents tweeter damage due to excessive signal levels
  • Highly-sensitive LF driver puts out full bass even at lower volumes
You'll enjoy your sound system with the Yamaha CBR10 passive loudspeaker!

Great lightweight PA speaker
I use these with subs in small and midsize venues. Genre is country so not super loud, but they've been loud and clear with as many as 150 people. Good sound, easy to move and solid value.

Yamaha speakers
Excellent speakers, all round: we didn't realize how tired our old speakers were sounding until we bought these--great highs, lows and mids. perfect for our acoustic duo. A+++++++++++++++

Very good small speaker
The CBR10 is a very good speaker for smaller spaces. It is a quality, well made unit. It has a nice musical sound which is easy on the ears. The highs are clear without harshness, and the bass does well for the size. Add a subwoofer if you want more on the low end. I like the light weight and compact size when I move these around.
Others may prefer the larger versions for larger spaces, while the 10" is best for me.

Impressive sound and value
Yamaha doesn't make anything that's junk. One good thing about it. You're getting an excellent product EVERY time, and a fair price. I have a little "music festival" at my house every year and I have two stages. My primary stage I use my "good PA. It's a Soundcraft ui16 and QSC tops, monitors and a KS212 sub. It KILLS. I found the stage two to be lacking, so I have been making improvements to it over the years. It consisted of a 15 year old Yamaha EMX-88 PA "all in a box" type powered unit, two absolutely craptastic 1x10 Kustoms for monitors and two of the worst sounding 1x15 Kustoms on earth.
SOOOO bad. I finally got some older Yamahas 12" for FOH because the Kustoms were so bad. I moved the Yamahas into the monitor position a couple of years ago and got two super heavy 1x15 Peavey SP3s. They sounded good, but too heavy to be practical. They blew up this year too at a party. Both of them went down within an hour of each other. Argh. So I got these little cbr10s because I have also added a little Behringer 1x12 sub to do the low end work. Amazingly, they have a LOT of bass for such small speakers!! With the sub added they do great! Crystal clear highs. Plenty LOUD, small footprint and Super light. The Peaveys weight 92lbs. These weigh 20.

I'd forgotten how easy powered PA is to set up like this. Plug up the amp, the sub, run 4 speaker cables and an out for the sub. Plug your mics up....done. Not all the hassle of running not only audio cables, but 4 trying to plug up additional power cables for the speakers. The only bummer is that road case with that Yamaha EMX, the speaker cables attached, and a power conditioner is NOT light. But that's is what carts are for. As good as the QSC stuff is? Heck, for small gigs? Give me this Yamaha setup!! Set it up in 5 minutes. And unless you need to be SUPER freaking loud, or need a bunch of auxes, this works just fine. Very pleased with this small, inexpensive and good sounding speaker as part of this PA. Maybe I'll retire the old Yamahas soon and get some 1x12s for the FOH and turn these into monitors.

Great speaker for the money
You can't beat these speakers for the money. They sound good. Light weight. Low price. Loud. So far they seem durable. Of course you won't get much low end out of them, but as a vocal monitor, or a top with a sub for small club situations these are great.
