Fit for the Pit? Ernie C’s Lead Machine Sure Is!

Influential rap metal shredder and producer Ernie C knows a thing or two about brutal riffs and heavy tone! With the signature Ernie C C-1 electric guitar from Schecter, players can follow in the footsteps of his Grammy-winning band Body Count and the sympatico acts he produced, including Rage Against the Machine. The Schecter Ernie C C-1 boasts a stunning Satin Black Reign finish exclusive to Body Count signature guitars and detailed construction, including a Floyd Rose tailpiece and a carbon-reinforced maple neck. The Ernie C C-1’s mahogany body delivers a classic heavy tone with commanding presence and sustain for riffs that disturb the peace. This axe is set to stun, no doubt, but Sweetwater guitarists are impressed with the Ernie C C-1’s tonal range, including a variety of clean tones. Two classic EMG active pickups fuel impressively diverse tone options with a bridge EMG 81 humbucker for ceramic heat, a neck EMG 89 humbucker for softer Alnico V tones, plus some downright impressive single-coil sounds offered via push-pull. Grab your own Schecter Ernie C C-1 from Sweetwater for a grab bag of heavy-duty features fit for the pit!

Schecter playability unleashed

Ernie C’s disruptive riffs demand accurate speed from all angles, and Schecter delivered just the solution with quality tonewoods shaped for maximum playability, even when sessions and gigs run long. The Ernie C C-1’s smooth ebony fretting surface features twenty-four extra-jumbo frets paired with Gothic cross inlays for an enormous sonic range matched with expressive smoothness and looks worth savoring. Backing the fingerboard is a maple neck quadruple optimized with three-piece construction, carbon reinforcement, a compound radius, and Schecter’s “Ultra-thin C” neck carve. Maple’s inclusion sharpens the guitar’s overall attack, while the neck’s 3-piece build and carbon fiber reinforcement guarantee impressive long-term stability and climate resistance. And no matter where you land on this neck, the Ernie C C-1’s 12–16-inch compound radius delivers just the right grip for hours of comfortable play.

Infinitely versatile EMG pickups

The Ernie C C-1’s dual active EMG humbuckers offer two distinct shades of humbucker aggression, high-fidelity cleans, and authentic single-coil chime — all from the same guitar. The bridge position EMG 81 taps the fluid, scorching heat of ceramic magnets for high-gain aggression and leads that cut the mix. This pickup is one of the most popular EMGs ever made, and for good reason! The neck position EMG 89 balances ceramic heat with more subtle Alnico V magnets for traditional humbucker tones that still hit hard. Moreover, the EMG 89 is practically two pickups in one. Unlike your average humbucker, each of the EMG 89’s two coils has a separate custom-voiced preamp, so you get the best possible humbucker tones and bona fide single-coil tones that are bright, chimey, and clear. Played clean, the EMG 89’s pristine clarity and presence fit right in with soft genres such as jazz. We dare you to find a pickup duo quite as versatile as those onboard the Schecter’s Ernie C C-1!

Schecter Ernie C C-1 Electric Guitar Features:

  • Signature solidbody electric guitar crafted to the specs of Body Count’s Ernie C
  • Mahogany body fuels heavy tone and aggressive sustain
  • 3-piece maple neck, reinforced with carbon fiber for resolute stability
  • Neck-through construction and Ultra Access heel enhance resonance and upper-fret access
  • Ebony fingerboard with fierce Gothic crosses inlays and a compound radius for accuracy and speed
  • 2 hot active EMG humbuckers (EMG 81 bridge, EMG 89 neck) with a 3-way selector and unique EMG 89 dual preamps facilitate true single-coil push-pull tones
  • Floyd Rose 1500 tailpiece facilitates dive-bombs and bends without wrecking tuning stability
  • Black and nickel hardware, including Grover tuners
  • Subtle hairline body binding for a slick signature look

Why Buy Your Guitar from Sweetwater?

See how Sweetwater goes to great lengths to give you the very best online guitar buying experience. What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!
