Blast into the Sonic Stratosphere

Affordability never looked so good. Sweetwater admires the impressive features Squier packs into their instruments, and the Sonic Bronco Bass is proof positive of their unwavering efforts. This rockin’ and roarin’ bass packs plenty of tone in its poplar body and maple neck and fingerboard. Combined with a ceramic single-coil pickup, the Sonic Bronco Bass sings out with a rich voice backed with plenty of output. Your fretting hand will love the “C”-shaped neck on the Sonic Bronco Bass. Known for comfort, these neck shapes suit advanced and beginner players of almost any genre. So, start your sonic exploration with a smooth-playing, great-sounding bass that’s primed to gig or record in the studio.

Solid construction, fast-fretting maple neck

The Squier Sonic Bronco Bass has a shorter 30-inch scale length for comfortable playability. Players new to the bass and veterans of the instrument will enjoy this shorter scale length. Combined with a “C”-shaped neck and 9.5-inch fingerboard radius, the Sonic Bronco will coax you into hours of playing without a hint of fatigue. The fingerboard is adorned with 19 narrow-tall nickel frets that let you slide easily from note to note. Lastly, the die-cast sealed tuning machines and 4-saddle hardtail bridge keep your tuning locked down rock solid.

Ceramic single-coils add the kick

It goes without saying that this bucking Bronco’s got a little kick in its step. Strap this bass on, dial it up to 10, and you’ll harness the power of its Ceramic single-coil pickup. Squier saddled this puppy into the poplar body and let it run to provide its players with high output and plenty of bright, rich, smooth tone. Squier kept this bass looking clean by equipping you with the necessities: one control for volume and one for tone. Thanks to the extra heft, these ceramic magnets come in handy when connecting to multi-effect pedals or a USB recording interface.

Squier Sonic Bronco Bass Features:

  • Comfortable bass with a shorter, 30-inch scale, great for beginners and advanced players
  • Poplar body with a smooth-playing maple neck and fingerboard
  • Single-coil ceramic pickup adds plenty of output and a smooth, bright, rich tone
  • 1 volume and 1 tone knob for control over your sound
  • Bolt-on “C”-shaped maple neck feels comfortable in the hand
  • 9.5-inch radius fingerboard and 19 narrow-tall nickel frets for speedy fretting

Love it! (Guitarist needed a bass)

I'm mainly a guitar player but I do a lot of recording at home and needed a bass guitar. I had it narrowed down to the..
- Gretch Jet (30")
- Ibanez Mikro (28.6")
- Fender Bronco (30")

The weight is great, satin neck is fantastic, the bridge and tuners are fine.
After a setup (everything was set perfectly except a small neck tweak) the only issue I have with the guitar is the stock pickup. It's fine for practicing but the output levels differ drastically from string to string. I am going to replace the stock pickup with a SD hot rails pickup.

I took off a .5 star for the pickup but the rest of the instrument is fantastic. Especially for someone that wants/needs a short scale bass.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely

Excellent bass for the money

I purchased this bass for my child, and it has been absolutely wonderful! This bass is light, comfortable, and is ready to be upgraded with a plethora of parts/accessories. The only thing I did was set it up, but other than that, I won't be changing anything on it for the foreseeable future. If I had to list a con, it is that the pickup output is a little low, but I feel like I am just nitpicking. This is a $ bass that punches above its weight class.
