What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Works great

Recording orchestra at a choral concert.

Picks up horn for a clean track to use for mixdown after the show.

Much better than placing a mike in front of the musician. They never hold still.

Just what I needed to enhance my recording setup!

I'm a [french] horn player that has read dozens of articles since 2020 about recording horn. I've used a Zoom H4n and an old, dropped ribbon mic that work well in large spaces but leave a lot to be desired in small spaces. Considering that most recommended setups for recording horn aim to primarily capture the indirect/reflecting sound, I was shocked at how this mic lets me just toss most of that out the window. Even in a fairly small office, pairing this with my Zoom in front has made EQing and editing the easiest it's ever been.

Also, for what it's worth, I got this on the recommendation of a trumpet player after we were unexpectedly individually mic'ed at a gig, and the provided mics didn't pick us up well. I don't anticipate running into that again, but at least I now have this option if I do.

Shure 'Nuff.

Definitely not my first nor last Shure microphone. My go to mic brand for solid, working man's quality. There are much better and worse out there, but a Shure mic has never failed me.

Shure beta 98 H\C Cardioid Condenser Clip-on Instrument microphone.

The Shure beta 98 H\C excellent mic. While I was browsing I noticed it. Thinking wow I could clip that to the suspension bracket of my tom. Tried it and was sold. So I ordered three more. The gooseneck enables you to position exactly where you need it. Of course I have the industry standard; the SM 57 on both my main snare and my aux. snare. My kit sounds awesome without mics. But mic them and I have concert sounding drums, awesome. Thanks Shure.
Music background: Drummer, ever since I was young one I always wanted to play drums. Also written a few songs.

Great Mic

I'm using this microphone on a saxophone and then routing it to an Eventide mixing link so that I can run an effects loop on my sax. The mic performs very well and produces great tone...honestly it makes me sound better even when the signal is clean with no effects.
