Hefty Tone and Heavenly Tuning Stability

The Schecter Banshee Mach-6 is the result of player feedback and Schecter's continual quest for improvement. This solidbody electric guitar features a maple/purpleheart neck-through construction, compound-radius fingerboard, and an attractive maple cap. If you like traditional hardtails, you'll appreciate the Mach-6. It is outfitted with a Hipshot Ibby hardtail bridge that adds extra punch to your playing. You can forget about accidentally bumping your tremolo bridge and focus on what matters — melting faces. To deliver knockout tone, the Mach-6 is loaded with a pair of Lundgren M6 humbucking pickups. Built for heavy riffing and lightning-fast licks, the Banshee Mach-6 is Schecter's best creation yet.

Neck-through construction boosts sustain

To provide you with the best playing experience possible, Schecter designed the Banshee Mach-6 with neck-through construction. Made with alternating plies of maple and purpleheart, the neck provides you with incredible stability and a boost in sustain. You'll find that your notes sustain a little longer and that the body resonates more than usual. The neck is capped with a compound-radius fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets that are perfect for huge bends and blazing-fast licks. On either side of the neck, two swamp ash wings and an eye-catching flamed maple veneer round out the rest of the body.

Lundgren pickups bring the ruckus

Guitar fanatics at Sweetwater know that pickup selection is crucial, especially if you're planning to tune down. You'll be happy to know that the Banshee Mach-6 is loaded with a pair of Lundgren M6 humbucking pickups. Descended from Lundgren's well-loved M7 humbucker, the M6 creates the optimal blend between heavy-hitting power and superb clarity. With the boosted clarity, you'll find that these pickups sound tight and ferocious even in the lowest tunings. By using the 3-way pickup selector switch and push/pull master tone knob, you can activate the coil-splitting feature and utilize a spanky single-coil sound. No matter what kind of music you're playing, the Mach-6 will be able to handle it.

Get extra punch and sustain thanks with the Hipshot hardtail bridge

Every component of an electric guitar counts when it comes to tone. If that's true, then why would you choose a guitar with a cheap bridge? This Mach-6 has a Hipshot Ibby bridge that adds extra punch to your notes. Machined from a solid piece of billet brass and plated to match your guitar, this bridge far outperforms stamped metal bridges. Machining a bridge allows the brass to resonate with more power. The Hipshot Ibby has one more trick up its sleeve. It has an ambidextrous design that allows you to turn your right-handed guitar into a lefty for a Hendrix-style shredding experience. Whether you play righty or lefty, your Banshee Mach-6 will fit your playing preference.

Schecter Banshee Mach-6 Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • Neck-through body design boosts sustain
  • Hipshot Ibby hardtail bridge adds extra punch and improves tuning stability
  • Lundgren M6 humbucking pickups pump out powerful notes
  • Maple/purpleheart neck construction showcases incredible stability
  • Swamp ash body produces extra resonance

Blown away by the quality of this one.

So I had a chance to play a Reaper and that was the first time Schecter was on my radar. I usually alternate between a ESP EII and an Ibanez AZ and like a lot of you reading this, quality and value for the dollar is important to me. So I watched and read reviews on the Mach 6's and couldn't find a bad one. And since the ESP EII's went way up in price I took a chance on this one based on the great specs and reviews. Had it set up at SW and as always they did a phenomenal job getting it ready before sending it out. So mine was a demo, and to be honest for such a tiny nick I was surprised it was discounted. The action was set good and low no buzz. The stainless steel frets if you've not played on them, give a very glassy sparkling clear tone and feel. Added with the Lundgren pups that are very clear and articulate you have a pristine clean and defined tone to work with before the amp. The neck profile is perfect and "NO" not Ibanez Wizard, more like a thin AZ neck. I was worried about that but its very comfortable. It holds tune well and the bridge is easy to "traverse" for palm muting. The access heel is great and allows a formidable reach for working on the high stuff. Legato and tapping are very easy thanks to the fret size. I have no bad to say about this instrument and I'm very happy I took a chance on Schecter. As someone who has spent a lot of money and experienced many mid-high end guitars I'd have to say Schecter is winning the 'VALUE" game right now. I would have never guessed Id' own a Schecter much less be this happy about it. Thanks to Chris Finton as always for putting up with my endless questions, and shout out to the tech who set my guitar up, Well done my man. Also if you order a case make sure you tell them to ship together as one. My guitar came separate from the case which is really the reason I ordered a case, to protect it during the dreaded "FED EX Kick and Drag-athon" I've dealt with Sweetwater for many years and they are the pinnacle of this game so I'm sure it was a simple cross of information. So there you go, if your considering this guitar but have no experience with Schecter I can say i was in your shoes and am very happy with this. Spend the extra bucks for a case and set-up and you'll be a happy camper.

Mega Bang for Bucks

This is my third Schecter and I think they have cracked the code for my sound: neck through, hard tail bridge, awesome pickups (2 SLS Elite w Fishmans, and now this one with Lundgren), and top notch fit and finish on all three.

The fit seriously is superb here and was better than several $3k guitars I tried on the Sweetwater show floor.
Music background: Classically-trained on multiple instruments, theory, composition, etc.

Fret issues on two separate instruments

I really wanted to like this guitar, so much so that when I discovered that the frets were lifting off the fretboard on the high E side I got paranoid that my house was too dry so I got a hygrometer to check. No sure enough it's pretty constant at 42-47% humidity. I have two ESP LTD 1000s that don't have frets lifting off the end of the board. The gap is big enough in some spots that I could fit my fingernail in between the fret end and fretboard wood, which on a $ guitar is a poor quality control. I received a replacement today, same model, also has frets that aren't all the way down on the fretboard, on the high E side. The gap is big enough to fit my fingernail in and get stuck. Again twice now this is a trend, and for this price a guitar shouldn't need a refret out of the factory. Extremely disappointed in Schecter, this is the third one I am returning for QC issues.
