Built for Heavy Licks

The Schecter Banshee Mach-6 is the result of player feedback and Schecter's continual quest for improvement. This solidbody electric guitar features a maple/purpleheart neck-through construction, compound-radius fingerboard, and an attractive maple cap. And if you're obsessed with staying in tune, you'll love the EverTune bridge and Schecter locking tuners. The EverTune bridge is easy to set up and will provide you with long-lasting tuning stability. To deliver the tone, the Mach-6 is loaded with a pair of Lundgren M6 humbucking pickups that pump out heavy riffs and clear lead lines. Built for heavy riffing and lightning-fast licks, the Banshee Mach-6 is Schecter's best creation yet.

Neck-through construction boosts sustain

To provide you with the best playing experience possible, Schecter designed the Banshee Mach-6 with neck-through construction. Made with alternating plies of maple and purpleheart, the neck provides you with incredible stability and a boost in sustain. You'll find that your notes sustain a little longer and that the body resonates more than usual. The neck is capped with a compound-radius fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets that are perfect for huge bends and blazing-fast licks. On either side of the neck, two swamp ash wings and an eye-catching flamed maple veneer round out the rest of the body.

Lundgren pickups bring the ruckus

Guitar fanatics at Sweetwater know that pickup selection is crucial, especially if you're planning to tune down. You'll be happy to know that the Banshee Mach-6 is loaded with a pair of Lundgren M6 humbucking pickups. Descended from Lundgren's well-loved M7 humbucker, the M6 creates the optimal blend between heavy-hitting power and superb clarity. With the boosted clarity, you'll find that these pickups sound tight and ferocious even in the lowest tunings. By using the 3-way pickup selector switch and push/pull master tone knob, you can activate the coil-splitting feature and utilize a spanky single-coil sound. No matter what kind of music you're playing, the Mach-6 will be able to handle it.

EverTune bridge keeps you spot-on all gig long

Struggling to keep your axe in tune? the Schecter Mach-6's EverTune Bridge can help you with that. An EverTune bridge is an all-mechanical system that helps you stay in tune longer under any playing situation. Small springs keep constant tension on your strings, giving you long-lasting tuning stability and incredibly accurate intonation too. You can even adjust the bridge to control how much your pitch changes when you bend a string. If you're playing a long gig or recording session, your tuning will be more stable regardless of your playing style, temperature, or other variables.

  • Neck-through body design boosts sustain
  • EverTune bridge vastly improves tuning stability and intonation

Best guitar I've ever owned!

I've been playing this guitar pretty much non-stop since it arrived, it's such an enjoyable experience! The pickups are really clear sounding & not as hot as I was expecting & seem to be super versatile. The fretwork is really solid, haven't noticed any dead spots or unlevel frets anywhere & they're highly polished right out of the box. The tuning stability is what I'm most impressed with in this guitar, I haven't had to tune at all in the past week since getting it, it even arrived in tune out of the box! The only negative thing I noticed with the guitar is a tiny (a few small dots) bit of overspray on the back of the body & a few small raised bumps on the thumb side of the neck but those are really insignificant finish details. The tuning machines seem to be good as well even though they're not branded. Overall a high quality instrument, really loving it & can't stop playing it!

Fantastic playability

So this review is long overdue as I bought one of these over a year ago. In that time it has become my "daily driver" despite owning guitars costing twice as much. In fact, I sold a USA Jackson Soloist because this guitar outplayed it. No joke.

The neck and finish are fantastic and smooth, with true jumbo frets. Usually jumbo refers to Ferd Wagner 9685 fretwire, but these are taller and feel like 3mm height; I haven't measured precisely and I don't think Schecter puts out that level of detail.

I will admit the fretwork and setup were not perfect out of the box, which is not surprising given it's a Korean factory guitar. The nut was also cut high so I had a local shop fix that and plek it, and since then it's played phenomenally well. I know Sweetwater also offers this but hard to catch those types of things until you actually receive and play the guitar.

Anyway, following that I've had zero problems and playbility is fantastic, referring specifically to low action without buzzing, balanced string tension, stable neck relief, etc. It plays quickly and smoothly without much effort. Tuning stability is 100% with the Evertune bridge, obviously, and intonation is good as well. The Evertune takes some tinkering to figure out - most of the online tutorials aren't very helpful. But if you can figure out a Floyd, you can figure out the Evertune. Setting it up for bends takes some finesse as well and they don't "feel" like a fixed bridge. If SRV ever comes back to life this is probably not the bridge he'd choose, but it works well for most stuff and it delivers what it claims to do.

The only downside here is the weight - the Evertune is HEAVY and adds 1-2 pounds to the weight of this guitar. Schecter doesn't publish weights that I've seen but it feels like this one is pushing 10 lbs and outweighs my 7-string. That wears on the back if you play standing up a lot.

Regarding the Lundgren M6s...pickups are a matter of taste so I'll just say that they are 1) very high output and 2) really push some strong mid-range tones. They're probably not the most versatile pickups but do articulate very well.

So in summary, this is not a cheap guitar but has surpassed my expectations and I have been very pleased with it.

Excellent Evertune equipped guitar!

I had considered a few different brands to try the Evertune system. Being a long time Schecter player, I chose this, knowing it would be great quality. The Evertune system is quite impressive. The Lundgren pickups in this guitar sound phenomenal. The neck is smooth and comfortable. The guitar is balanced nicely and overall plays like a dream. It would have gotten a full 5 stars if it came with a Sustainiac. Hopefully we'll see a sustainiac in more than one Schecter model without a Floyd Rose in the near future.
