Guild Baritone Acoustic-electric with Pristine, Authentic Tone

Get rich, full low tone with the Guild BT-240E Baritone acoustic-electric guitar. This F-Jumbo acoustic-electric guitar features mahogany back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top for a stunning blend of low end and midrange, and it also delivers incredible projection and giant volume — unplugged or amplified. The BT-240E is tuned to B-E-A-D-F#-B — five steps down from standard tuning. When strummed or picked, this deep-voiced acoustic-electric guitar makes a wonderful accompaniment instrument for almost any ensemble, adding a unique sonic dimension to any mix. A mahogany neck with pau ferro fingerboard offers outstanding playability and response. And when you plug in, a Guild/Fishman Sonitone GT-1 with volume and tone controls ensure pristine, authentic baritone acoustic tone.

Guild/Fishman Sonitone GT-1: full, dynamic tone

The Guild/Fishman Sonitone GT-1 in the BT-240E is a wonderfully designed system that naturally and fully translates the acoustic tone of this fine instrument. The sound is full and dynamic onstage, and it pairs great with a microphone for recording parts at home or in the studio. Volume and tone controls are mounted directly in the soundhole for easy access and a look that won't detract from your guitar's natural beauty.

Fine appointments enhance the BT-240E

Guild outfitted the BT-240E with their legendary scalloped X-bracing. This innovative pattern uses crisscrossing, overlapped braces in the body that support better resonance and sustain as well as promote longevity and durability. In addition, a genuine bone and nut saddle and a pau ferro bridge support overall resonance and tone. At Sweetwater, we appreciate these added fine appointments for the subtle enhancements they add to the Guild BT-240E Baritone.

Guild Baritone Acoustic

Very nice guitar . I did happen to get lucky and it was ready to play right out of the box so I am very pleased with the guitar the only thing is I should of got a case but that's my fault so I have no complaints. The guitar Sounds great unplugged and plugging it in takes it to another level it's very crisp and clean and sounds fantastic!! So if you are looking to add a baritone to your toolbox that won't break the bank I suggest giving the Guild a try . And as always I have to give thanks to Sweetwater for everything and of course my sales rep Jeff Bohan for always making my purchases pleasant and hassle free.

Fantastic guitar- definitely needs professional set up

Great guitar! Exactly what I wanted, but it was desperately in need of a set up once I received it.

Great guitar

I purchased this baritone guitar a couple weeks ago. The neck is easy to play (Feels very much like the Taylors I play 98% of time.) and the sound is full. Was hesitant because of reviews on the electronics but it sounds great plugged in. Exceptional guitar for the $$$. (I have been playing over 50 years; professionally over 35 years).

Versitile

This guitar can be played either as a baritone or in a standard e tuning simply move the e string which is number five up to number six then move all the other strings up one notch. Then a b string from a standard guitar and tune it for your high e number one string. Then, you have both an acoustic jumbo and a baritone guitar. When you would like to play it as a baritone simply move the strings back into their original positions. Of course, you can only do this a limited amount of times.

Finally!

I have been eying acoustic baritones for several years after borrowing a luthier-made one awhile back. I've been a fan of Guild instruments for as long as I can remember, but for some reason I've never owned one. I was on the Sweetwater site looking at pedals, and I saw a store demo of this was for sale for a good price. I'm so happy I finally ordered it. It plays and sounds so sweet!

When customers come to Sweetwater looking for great, affordable acoustic guitars, we're always quick to tell them about Guild. At the same time, Guild has brought us some real beauties over the years, ranging from top-end acoustic guitars to timeless jazz boxes, and we're happy to say our most seasoned players agree that these instruments are second to none. As one of the prime Guild dealers, we know that when we sell one of these instruments, whoever gets it is going to love it and play it a lot, especially after we put it through our 55-point Evaluation to ensure it leaves our climate-controlled warehouse in perfect condition. Whether you're looking for your first acoustic guitar or your next archtop, ask your Sales Engineer about Guild.
