Slimmer Body Acoustic-electric from Ibanez

Reimagining their popular AEG line, Ibanez is pleased to offer the improved AEG5012. Featuring the same slimmer body depth design of past AEG offerings, the AEG5012 is an ideal performance acoustic. A spruce top with sapele back and sides provide for rich, full tone. With this updated model, Ibanez has also added an okoume neck along with a purpleheart fingerboard for improved playability all around. And when you are ready to plug in, an Ibanez T-Bar II undersaddle and AEQ-TTS preamp kick out beautifully articulate amplified tone. Finally, for players who like to traverse the neck, the AEG5012 features a smooth, deep cutaway for easy access to those higher notes.

Stellar amplified tone

The placement of the Ibanez T-Bar II undersaddle pickup captures palm hits and bass drum-like tones — ideal for experimental, expressive styles of play. In addition, the AEQ-TTS preamp lets you tweak your amplified sound to suit various styles. And with its onboard tuner, you can stay in tune while you perform - a feature guitarists here at Sweetwater really appreciate.

AEG body shape feels great and keeps feedback at bay

The shallow body design of the AEG5012 is not only comfortable to play, but guitarists at Sweetwater have also found it keeps feedback at bay when plugged in. The undersized body eliminates the boominess you get from larger-bodied acoustics, making it ideal for live performance as well as recording. And its undersized design means it's lighter, making the AEG5012 a perfect "campfire" guitar that travels easily.

The best gift ever

My daughter surprised me with this guitar after purchasing from Sweetwater. I must say it is a joy to play. The sound is remarkable! The set up was previously done by Sweetwater, all I had to do was tune it. It is a great addition to my collection.

Ibanez AEG5012 12-string Acoustic-electric Guitar. This thing is smooth, Brilliant and sings like a bird. This a Demo model, But I think Sweetwater sent Me the Brand new model! Hahahahaha! Had I'd paid full price for this guitar I Would Differently Not Have Been Disappointed. Demo gear from Sweetwater! It's the secret everyone needs to know. Check out their demos today! Great Small 12

I bought this as a little brother to my jumbo Guild 12-string. I can't play the jumbo sitting down - just too big. The smaller body of this makes it excellent if you play plugged in. The acoustic sound is cheap and thin. But, of course, I'm comparing it to my Guild big body guitar. The electronics are adequate and the onboard tuner is a nice touch; seems to be accurate. The set up out of the box is poor. But gratefully it comes with an additional saddle, so if I mess up sanding it down to adjust the action, there's a backup. The tuners seem to hold tune well, but they are also small. The neck is a little short, which I like, but it makes the frets a little small, too. Overall, it's worth the money.
