The Cure for Bad Intonation

Does your uke have tuning issues? The new 6B Ukulele Pegs from Grover can solve your tuning blues. With their tapered nylon washers, these new pegs from Grover are capable of finer tuning, due to a firmer fit to your ukulele's peg head. The result is that your strings will stay in tune for a long, long time. Sweetwater knows that all Grover products are built with precision quality, and the 6B Ukulele Pegs are no exception.

Grover: exceptional quality and lifetime warranty

Grover has been keeping the world's finest stringed instruments in tune for over a century. Grover started out in the late 1800s producing banjo and guitar tuning machine heads. Eventually the company expanded into making tuners for mandolin, dulcimer, ukulele, violin, pedal steel, and bass guitar. Inventor of the enclosed, permanently lubricated machine head, Grover tuners are original equipment on many of the world's finest string instruments. Grover employs only the finest materials and manufacturing methods, and they stand behind their products with their lifetime warranty: "Should your Grover tuners ever fail, for any reason, simply return them to us for a fast and friendly no charge repair or replacement."

Reviews

Excellent friction tuners
If you prefer friction tuners to geared, these are outstanding. I don't like the look of 'ears' on sopranos and concerts, so I prefer the look of these. The stock Grover 2s on my Flea, Fluke, and Firefly were OK at best. I swapped them out for 6s and am very happy. Only (minor) gripe is that I had to use a file to open the post hole slightly.
Grover 6B
Upgraded the stock Grover 2b tuners on my Flea ukulele. The 6B tuners were hard to turn, even after adjusting the screw. The 6B design has a couple of additional washers, which allow them to turn much easier, and hold tuning very well. You still need to adjust the friction via the screw, but they are clearly superior to the Gotoh 6B tuners. Plus, Sweetwater has free shipping, and best-in-class customer service. They even threw in some free candy. Sweet indeed!
Music background: hobbyist
Grover tuners
I have had these and they are nowhere near as good as the UPT Gotohs. Kept slipping or alternatively, had to be extremely tight. If you are a serious musician, save yourself the grief and get the good stuff.
