Hair-raising vintage-style hardware
One of Gibson’s notable achievements in the 1950s was the development of the renowned Tune-o-matic bridge, which enables precise intonation for each string. The patent for this design was awarded to Gibson president Ted McCarty, a fact that has never been disputed; however, only in recent years have his numerous innovations gained widespread recognition. Since its inception, millions of guitars have been crafted with variations of this design. This Dealer Select 1959 Les Paul Standard features an ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge, complemented by a stopbar tailpiece.
