Noiseless, Vintage Tone

The Mojotone '58 Quiet Coil Prewired HSS Strat Pickguard with '58 Clone Humbucker has been engineered to bring back all the vintage sparkle of 1950s-era Strat pickups with the versatile punch modern players require. You get low-torque CTS potentiometers, a Switchcraft jack, and a CRL 5-way switch for dialing in just the right voicing. The output of the three pickups is fastidiously balanced. And when you need it, the bridge humbucker provides the extra girth necessary for longer sustain and enhanced impact.

Ready to go

How about a drop-in Strat pickguard loaded with noiseless pickups and no soldering required? That's exactly what you get with the Mojotone '58 Quiet Coil Prewired HSS Strat Pickguard. Guitarists at Sweetwater — who have spent plenty of time modding our instruments and soldering in electronics — love the fact that the '58 Quiet Coil Prewired Strat Pickguard with Hot Bridge is ready to drop in and go. And Mojotone has done it without PC boards, batteries, or other electronic add-ons.

Mojotone '58 Quiet Coil Prewired HSS Strat Pickguard Features:

  • Vintage 1958 tone without the hum
  • 2 x '58 Quiet Coil single-coil pickups offer strat sparkle
  • 1 x '58 Clone humbucker in the bridge position
  • Built with high-quality parts: CTS pots, a Switchcraft jack, CRL 5-way selector switch, and more
  • Scatterwound coils help provide the hand-wound chime and sparkle of 1950s Strat pickups
  • Zero hum in any switch position; get all the tones you want without the noise

Reviews

Amazing set
I have this set in a Partscaster. I own an R8, Tom Anderson Icon HSS, a PRS Modern Eagle V, another partscatser with Fralin minihums, and this Mojotone set is my favorite. Highly recommended!
Awesome tones
I can echo the previous review wholeheartedly. These pickups have been a huge upgrade over my fender tex mex pickups. I opted to activate the treble bleed feature and installation was easy with no soldering required. The pickups are quiet, crisp and hot.
Music background: Guitar player 30 years.
Everything I wanted
TLDR, they are super quiet, easy to install, and you should use the volume mod (treble bleed) option.

Regarding my decision-making process, the solderless installation was the final point that sealed the deal. While I have successfully soldered a pre-loaded pickguard into another guitar without any trouble, I went with this pickguard because it fit my three requirements - 1) noise-cancelling Strat pickups, 2) in a pre-loaded pickguard, 3) in an HSS configuration.

The solderless-install option was just such a great extra feature that it sold the deal. Only after ordering the pickguard did I read about two additional features — the Blender tone control configuration (which allows you to change from a Volume-Tone-Tone configuration to a Volume-Tone-pickup Blend (adding either the neck or bridge pickup into the signal when the opposite pickup is selected, which adds tonal options to positions 1, 2, 4, and 5), plus the Volume Mod (treble bleed circuit, which allows you to retain high-end frequencies as you roll off the volume knob).

Installation was painless. Because the tone control configuration (standard tone controls vs. pickup blend) and the volume mod (treble bleed On/Off) options are toggled underneath the pickguard, I uninstalled and reinstalled it three times to test out various settings, which was quick and painless.

Long story short, engaging the Volume Mod (treble bleed) sounds incredible and should probably be everyone's go-to option if they like to roll the volume knob down for amp control (and if you don't do that, why aren't you?). Using the pickup Blender reveals brand-new Strat tones, but the standard tone knob configuration sounds great too. All of this in a loud, hum-free, vintage-tinged environment!
