Amazing GOLD Grover Locking Tuners for 1980 Gibson ES347TD
I've wanted to update my 1980 Gibson ES347 for years. Finally bit the bullet and bought GOLD Grover Locking tuners with Keystone knobs. Had to drill new screw mount holes, but couldn't be happier with how they work, AND how they look. The knobs perfectly matched the original Gibson tuners. How marvelous to install new strings so easily and quickly, now. Much thanks to Steve Benton for helping me with the purchase!
Q: What Is Better Than Grover 18:1 Ratio Gold Rotomatic Tuners?
Answer: Grover Roto-Grip Locking Gold Rotomatic 18:1 Ratio Tuners.

That's right. These Grover locking Rotomatic tuners are, dare I say it, game changer. My experience with the exchange/installation and use of these tuners on my Gibson Custom-Inspired Epiphone 1959 ES-355 in Ebony was so highly positive that I decided to get another set for my Alpine White Epiphone Les Paul Custom which is also from the Gibson Custom-Inspired line.

Just like the first set, exchange and/or installation of these tuners was a breeze as they were 'drop-in' replacements. They made my white Les Paul Custom look like a premium Les Paul. They work very well, keep my guitar in-tune and make changing strings easy.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will order another set once my Gibson Custom-Inspired Epiphone Les Paul Custom in Ebony is delivered.

Last but not the least, I want to thank my personal SE Mr Dave Brow, who for the last Eleven (11) years has continued to provide me with the utmost courtesy and exemplary service.

THESE PREMIUM LOCKING TUNERS SHOULD COME STOCK ON THE EPIPHONE INSPIRED BY GIBSON CUSTOM PREMIUM LINE
It has been 5 months since I have had this Epiphone Inspired by Gibson 1959 ES-355 in Ebony. And in those 5 months, I have been inspired to change its factory features that it came with. First, I polished it by hand to a high-gloss finish. I changed its stock all-black tophat control knobs to the Gibson ones with gold metal inserts that I got from Sweetwater. I also replaced its blank white on black truss rod cover with a gold on black one to match the guitar's over-all appearance with my name and the guitar's model number custom-engraved on it.

Most recently, which is the subject of this review, I replaced its stock Grover 18:1 ratio gold tuners with the Grover 502GK Roto-Grip Locking Rotomatic tuners with Keystone buttons also in gold with 18:1 ratio. I have always wanted how the keystone buttons look on the Gibson Custom's fully bound and over-sized open book-style headstock. But, I could not justify replacing the already excellent stock tuners just for the looks alone of the keystone buttons. Enter the Grover 502 Roto-Grip Locking Rotomatic Tuners. The added tuning stability and the ease of changing strings with these well-designed and engineered locking tuners made the expense of changing the stock tuners justified.

I was so excited that I installed them on the same day that I received them. Installation was a breeze as they were 'drop-in' replacements. They work very well and keeps my guitar in-tune. I already knew that these tuners are going to make my premium Epiphone look more premium.

I am very pleased with these tuners that I ordered another set for my Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Les Paul Custom in Alpine White. There is no doubt in my mind that I will order a 3rd set once my IGC Les Paul Custom in Ebony is delivered next month. I think all Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom guitars should come with these Grover locking tuners. I don't mind paying the price difference. It just makes more sense. Thank you for reading my review.

Great wish I could use them
Ordered these and discovered they would not fit and didn't want to drill bigger holes. I've used Grover's for years, put them on all my guitars where I can. From what I could tell from uninstalled observation these are of the quality I've come to expect from Grover. Check the hole size on your headstock before ordering.

Excellent
These tuners dropped right into my Gibson ES-339. Super-easy, with no drilling required.
