RGBA Quad LED Powerhouse of PARs

The Chauvet DJ 4BAR Quad ILS 4 x RGBA PAR system is a terrific way to get encompassing illumination for mobile entertainers. Built into a single standalone fixture, the 4BAR Quad ILS features four individual wash lights, each loaded with seven red, green, blue, and amber LEDs. That alone makes the 4BAR Quad ILS one of the best lighting values you'll find at Sweetwater. While this amazing centerpiece fixture is completely DMX controllable, it can also run beat-synced preset programs in sound-active mode, and you can use master/slave chaining with other 4BAR fixtures to easily create more complex lighting setups. Add an optional 4BAR USB transceiver, and you can take your DMX wireless. The 4BAR Quad ILS also makes communication between different fixture types a breeze thanks to its compatibility with the ILS ecosystem. And for simpler wireless freedom, the 4BAR Quad ILS is also fully compatible with Chauvet's IRC-6 remote.

D-Fi USB compatibility opens up new wireless possibilities

When power isn't an issue but running DMX cables is, D-Fi USB is a serious asset. The 4BAR Quad ILS features a special USB port that accepts a Chauvet D-Fi USB transceiver. This transceiver lets your 4BAR USB receive wireless DMX from your D-Fi hub or even your smartphone if you add a FlairCon Air to your rig. What's more, you can create master/slave links between D-Fi-equipped lighting fixtures, allowing you to set up sophisticated, automated light shows without even touching a DMX controller or running a single DMX cable.

Four wash lights in one versatile, standalone lighting fixture

Without a doubt, the Chauvet 4BAR Quad ILS lighting fixture is easily one of the most cost-effective ways to add a ton of lighting flexibility to your rig. Each of the 4BAR Quad ILS's four fixtures are packed with 7 RGBA LEDs each. Spread out across your dance floor, the output from a single 4BAR Quad ILS can easily light up several mid-sized sections of your room. And when you add all of the 4BAR Quad ILS's numerous control options, the lighting possibilities go straight through the roof.

All of the control options you need to crank up the energy

Chauvet clearly designed the 4BAR Quad ILS lighting fixture to integrate into a wide range of lighting rig styles. If you're fairly new to lighting or are looking for a set-it-and-forget-it lighting rig, then you're going to love the 4BAR Quad ILS's sound-active mode. In sound-active mode, the 4BAR Quad ILS simply reacts to the sound of your music, picking up the beat and changing with the music. An included foot controller lets you change operation modes on the fly. When it's time to expand your lighting system, or if you're adding on to one, the 4BAR Quad ILS's master/slave connectivity with other 4BAR Quad ILS models makes it easy to create complex automatic light shows. On the other hand, if you happen to already be a DMX guru, then you're going to love the control you'll get over your 4BAR Quad ILS with just 15 DMX channels. Lastly, the 4BAR Quad ILS's compatibility with ILS ecosystems makes it easy to coordinate light shows across a massive number of different fixture types.

Tripod stand, footswitch, and carrying case included

When we call the Chauvet 4BAR Quad ILS a complete, all-in-one lighting system, we mean it. That's because Chauvet designed the 4BAR Quad ILS to come with everything you need to add lighting to your show, including a stand, a wireless footswitch, and a handy traveling case. Setting up your 4BAR Quad ILS lighting system takes only minutes too, making it one of the most convenient all-in-one lighting rigs around.

LED technology for greener, cooler, more versatile fixtures

Chauvet is one of the first companies to bring high-output LED technology to lighting fixtures made for music production and DJing, and they're certainly one of the best. As a US Green Building Council LEED Platinum certified company, Sweetwater really gets the value in LED fixtures. Drawing just a tenth (or less) the wattage of a similar incandescent fixture, typical LED fixtures not only save you cash at the meter, they also dramatically reduce the temperature onstage or on the dance floor. On top of that, LED fixtures like this provide you with all kinds of added perks such as vivid color (no need for gels), no duty cycles, and all the control you could ask for.

Chauvet DJ 4BAR Quad ILS 4 x RGBA PAR System Features:

  • The perfect way to add a ton of light and flexibility to your lighting rig
  • Compatible with the Integrated Lighting System for coordinated light shows across an unlimited amount of different fixtures
  • A single lighting fixture that gives you 4 individual LED wash lights
  • Each of the 4 lights features 7 red, green, blue, and amber LEDs

  • Works in master/slave with other 4BAR series units for large coordinated light shows
  • Included wireless footswitch lets you change operation modes on the fly
  • Pass-through hole easily mounts to most tripods or speaker stands with no additional clamp needed
  • Safely mount to truss using the built-in bolts for increased mounting options

Chauvet 4BAR
Great lights - just what I was hoping for easy to pack and set up!
Love this product
My Sweetwater expert Ryan, answered all my questions and helped me with my order. Everything arrived on time and was perfect. I am very happy with my purchase!

Chauvet's flagship wash lights. More thoughts ...
I already have a previous review on these awesome lights but one more great thing is the ILS mobile phone control you have with these. Change in lighting color and ambience really affects the emotion of music, and these are a dream-come-true to control.

The colors are really rich pro grade.

I did order some 15 foot standard IEC power cables for each unit so I can wrap a bit down the stand for neat cable management. :)

When it comes to stage lighting, pay attention to the "luminance" in the specs. This one has a luminance of 2353 lux @ 2m per par. I replaced an older set of Chauvet 4BAR from 2016 with the little 108 LED's that had a luminance of about 750 lux, ... which is fine in a small club but not anywhere near the rich colors of these pars with 7 large leds.

We did a gig as a 5 piece band for July 4 on an outdoor trailer stage, and the company providing sound used just one of these on both sides. The stage lighting was as nice as any large concert.

The brightness is absolutely professional in a small to medium gigging venue.

Our band has two of these 4BAR Quads for wash lights, 2 Chauvet Giga Bars for active lights and a Chauvet haze machine. Indoors, the haze machine really shows off your investment in lighting and is almost a top secret ambience factor that makes everything come together beautifully!

If you already have a stand, look at the 4BAR Flex, which does not include a stand but looks like the same top bar with the same luminance, and save about $-ish using your own stand.

ILS is the new way to go in lighting to allow control with mobile phones.

We use a 50 foot DMX cable to sync these lights and run the cable around the back of the stage. Sometimes we use solid colors, and some songs we let the colors wash through the various programs. We don't use the music active feature because with have the Gig Bars for active lighting.

Very hightly recommended. They are built to last a very long time

Best Value in Stage Lighting
This system isn't perfect—the case, stand bag, and foot controller don't really inspire a ton of confidence. The case is thankfully a hard-foam zipper style, which makes it light and relatively protective, but its canvas outer layer is held on with screws which I can pretty much guarantee will back out over time. The canvas material feels pretty cheap, and that trend continues even more with the stand bag which is essentially a skinny potato sack with a drawstring—it's more convenient than carrying the bare stand would be, but it's not adding anything in terms of protection. The foot controller also feels pretty cheap, and the battery compartment is secured with screws instead of a clip so if the 9V battery dies at a gig, changing it will take longer than I'd like. I haven't had it long enough to know if it will indicate somehow when the battery is low, but I suspect it won't. The stand is surprisingly sturdy and extends the lights to a maximum height of 7 or 8 feet (sorry, no tape measure handy at the time of this review), but the hardware for setting the feet and the pole height is, as is the overall trend here, pretty cheap. It works fine, but odds are a lot of this won't hold up all that long if you're gigging regularly.

At this price, however, I don't care. The stand and case that come with this one are WAY better than in the not-that-much-cheaper 4 Bar LT. The light output is great for the price point, and as simple as the foot controller is, it's by far the easiest (and I'd argue best) way to control lights from the stage. One system is more than sufficient to light up a solo or duo act. I ended up buying two of these systems and a 50ft DMX cable for use with my 4-piece band. I haven't tested it yet, but in Master/Slave mode I'll be able to use one foot controller to synchronize both units. I may even get a third one to place upstage for some rim lighting.

Sadly, it seems like this system is being phased out, replaced by the newer Hex version. Personally, I found the price point of this system and the higher overall output to be preferable to the color advantages of the hex lights, but the good news is it looks like that system comes with all the same accessories so, while it's a slightly worse value, it should still be a great option when this Quad system is eventually discontinued.

Also, just as an aside, I did see one review mention the case being just a bag. I believe that's true of the Flex version (which is just the lights, no stand) as well as the LT version (which is a smaller bar with 3-LED modules instead of the 7-LED modules this unit is equipped with), but the case that is intended to come with this 4Bar Quad is the rigid foam zipper case I mentioned in my review. Their product line is a little confusing and this took me a while to figure out, so hopefully that's helpful to someone.

Sweetwater lighting techs, DJs, and musicians alike have the deepest respect for Chauvet, both on the personal and on the professional side. Many of us first became acquainted with Chauvet before LED technology caught on, and it's been impressive to see their range of fixtures grow. Today, Chauvet offers some of our most popular LED lights, from drop-in PAR replacements and intelligent lighting instruments to exciting effects, foggers, haze machines, and more. We also love their innovation. Chauvet has brought LED technology to classic fixtures like ellipsoidal and Fresnels, while their D-Fi system has made wireless DMX truly accessible. Top it off with powerful hardware controllers, next-gen DMX control software, and much more, and we're happy to recommend the Chauvet gear we not only stock but also use ourselves.
